Golden college days

The college, college infrastructure, college staff and entire management is really god as compared to other collges in our town. A small town like ours is blessed with such a wonderful college campus.

There was no such entrance exam conducted as such. Marks obtained in the 12th examination was enough qualification for admission.

We assessed the curriculum with the help of detailed prospectus of the course issued by the college. I personally impressed with the facilities provided by the college. The infrastructure of the college was also good. We aslo enquied about the curriculum to senior students already studying in the college.

No there was no such provision of internship. The course was of 3 years without any break. No industrial visits, no internships, nothing...

As a commerce college there was no such placement offered by the college at that time. Although some coll centers like Infosys approached the college and provided few jobs to some of our friends having packages around 15k. But the job is located at Pune and not in our town.

There were many events we used to celebrate. Like annual sports events where everyone from the college gets a chance to show his skills in sports. There were lots of competitions like drawing, rangoli, dance, drama, etc. Also our institute conducts 'latthe fastival' where many competitions tacks place.

The fees structure was very feasible. Fees were around 1000 to 2000 rs. for the entire year. Also many schemes like OBC, BC, SC, NT, Non-creamy leyer were there to minimize the fees. Also students having teachers as their parants also get fees relaxation.

No such loan facilities available in the college. Though some banks do provide student loans. There are many scholarships available at the college depending on the academics performance of the student.

As I already mentioned many competitions were conducted by the college. Some extra curricular activities also there like a wall monthly was also conducted in which students are editors and writers too. Also activities like NSS, NCC also conducted very seriously. The Gymkhana of the college is well equipped with many sports having a full basketball court, indoor badminton court, table tennis tables etc. Also fully equipped weight training gym is also available.

There was a college aided canteen at the college premises serving food at cheaper rates, the food was tasty, clean canteen area and friendly staff. But there was not any hostel facilities nor any mess facility provided by the college. Though there are many hostel facilities available out side the campus like, Jain hostel, Lingayat hostel etc.

Yes we have a strong alumni network and we conduct a get-together every year. We help college and college students in many ways. We organise many events during the annual get-together.

There were weekly tutorials of 20 marks for each subject. Which were conducted by the teacher of each subject in the classroom only. After that there was a six monthly exam based on half of portion. And finally the 100 marks exam at the end of the year. Which was the real one having impact on the average marks of the degree.

The process for admission was simple. The college issued a detailed printed prospectus having admission form at the end..we filled the form and on the basis of marks obtained in the 12th exam we got an admission. The notification was released just after the 12th results.

The facilities are really good at teaching. Highly qualified and dedicated to their teaching task. But as commerce student I must point out one thing, thet the teaching staff must be practitioner in commerce i.e. a commerce teacher must be a practicing trader, a businessman or an entrepreneur. Like a doctor teaches to medical students, an engineer teaches in engineering college.
