Course Curriculum Overview

This course basically teaches you about Hydrocarbon Exploration and various Geophysical Methods to map the subsurface geology. The girls-to-boys ratio is about 4:6. The faculties here are the best in their field and known nationwide for their publications.

A lot of multi-national companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Meta, hcl, tcs and other big companies related to core jobs come here every year to hire students for summer interns. Students here get a lot of opportunities to explore and sharpen their skills.

Placement Experience

Placement season starts in the month of October. The final-year students are eligible for the placements. Most of the students who join for summer internships would get the pre-placement offer. Other students can apply off campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for general and obc students is about 25000 per semester. It does not include mess and hostel charges. Institute provides a merit cum means scholarship which can be availed by financially challenged students on the basis of their merit.

Campus Life

The college's annual fest is Srijan which is East India's biggest fest. The college is also famous for its tech fest called Concetto. The college also organizes a sports festival. ISM has a very rich social and cultural environment.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel provided by the college is very good. IIT standards are maintained by the institute in regard to mess and hostel. Mess is also good. The mess here follows the menu that is recommended by the Hostel Executive Committee.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

Institute takes admission for this course on the basis of Joint Admission Enterence for Masters JAM. JAM is a national-level exam that happens every year. The application starts around September month.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There is nothing specific about choosing it , it's just my interest on that particular subject for which I am there .we get proper notes and tips for our exams and also some life lesson . There is only thing which I find irritating and that's the gap between the exams like seriously how can expect from us to prepare 4 subject in just 2 to 3 months

Must Read before coming to IIT ISM Dhanbad

I had secured AIR 5860 in JEE Advanced, so i had applied for all CSE, ECE, ELECTRICAL, MNC and related branches in Top IITs. For my rank, I got IIT ISM Dhanbad in the last round. I had also got IIT Kharagpur Manufacturing Science, but I choosed to go for furture rounds as i thought doing a circuit branch in IITs is better. I could not make it to colleges that i wanted to as my rank was 5860 and belonging to the GENERAL category, the rank is too high to get into top branches of the top 7 IITS. The admission process is JEE Advanced, Elgibility is that u need to have good rank in JEE Advanced, the rank required varies from branch to branch but i can give you and idea, for our IIT ISM, CSE -> 2000 to 3500, MNC -> 3500 to 4500 , ECE -> 4500 to 6000 and so on....Read More
