The college entered a new phase of development after remaining under private management for a long period of twenty-three years. It was taken over by the state Govt. in the year 1971. Under Govt. management it is making headway in all directions. At present, the college has 22 departments and imparts Honors teaching in as many as 20 subjects, such as English, Economics, Commerce, History, Political Science, Education, Psychology, Home Science, Sociology, Philosophy, Oriya, Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Computer Science. Computer Science Honors is the only Self - financing subject available in the college, and I chose it.

In the 1st year, the fees are around 1000 in 2nd year the fees are near to 1500 in 3rd year the students have many works to do as project works, and attend the seminar so the fees go around 2500. Merit students can apply for Central Scholarship, medhabruti, prana, etc. In the 3rd year, many companies come to offer a job on campus.

Campus life is very interesting. There is a playground where everyday students play cricket, volleyball, basketball, etc. The annual fest is conducted in January every year. The availability of books & journals in the library is very good. The classroom students have drinking water facilities etc. There are many clubs and social groups run by the students.

The admission process is only based on the student's cut-off mark. This college doesn't require any entrance exam. The students who are passed the 10th board are eligible to apply to this college. One can apply application form by online and the application fee is 300. Cut off mark goes less for SC/ST caste.
