Remarks

College management was very strict. One of our management was very rude. Every student hated him for his such bad behavior and once our juniors made strikes when he hiked semester fee for his own interests. once he was alleged for corruption charges and banished from college.

Entrance Preview

I have qualified CGPET in the year 2010 and i have scored 5796 rank in Chhattisgarh overall ranking. There were 16000 seats in engineering colleges, among them my rank was good enough to get in a good college with branch of interest.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As Mechanical Engineering is mother of all engineering branches, course structure fully justifies the syllabus and research aspects so that student coming from school can easily get in touch with technology with practical application. We have to give 46 theory and 30 practical exam during the 4 years of engineering. And well designed syllabus by scholars successfully implements the engineering aptitude in students mind. Academic projects, workshops, assignments and vocational training program are well enough to show us path in the filed of research.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. Every engineering college has to conduct vocational training program during the session of 4th and 6th semester. And for this students are independent to choose the organization of their own interest. In my college i chose to visit Bhilai Steel Plant, the most lucrative unit of SAIL.Apart from this I had interest in CAD/CAm/CAE, so i also did certification courses during vocational training session. In 6th semester i went three industries for vocational training. Bhilai Steel Plant, Simplex Casting Ltd and CAD Academy Bhilai. These vocational training didn't provide any stipend but training certificates were given to all students.

Placement Experience

3

One of most important part of engineering is campus placement for final year students seeking for job. My college had three year tie-up with Sterlite Vedanta Company and came twice for campus placement for our seniors but when it was our turn they didn't come. Instead our college managed off campus program so that we could put our efforts to get a job. Companies like TEGA a subsidiary of NICO Company gave us opportunity to compete in off campus drive. So over all job opportunity was average, neither the best not the worst.

College Events

4.5

Every engineer loves celebration whether it is fresher party, farewell party, engineers days or annual functions. In our college we were used to celebrate Engineers Days with great respect for our great engineers. And college fests and religious festivals were also celebrated in our college. As i said that every engineer loves celebration i also enjoyed many fest and festival during my college days, These memories will be never fade in my mind.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of every engineering college is expensive. As compared to other colleges of other states, completing engineering degree in college in Chhattisgarh is less expensive. Semester fee was 25000 each and over all cost of B.E. was 4lac college fees. Apart we had to pay 7000rs for Library and dress code for 4 years of study. I have completed my B.E. by expending 7000 lac rs overall. And i also got pre metric scholarship from CG government.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes.CG government provides pre mertic scholarship for students those having family income upto 250000 Rs and secured good marks in semester exams. Along with this Commonwealth Student loan facilities were provided to those students who can pay the fees easily. Interest rates were also low and students had to pay the outstanding amount of loan in 6 month after getting a job. Scholarship given to OBC students was 20000Rs foe one year and for SC students 30000Rs, as well as 26000 Rs for ST students. Graduating student were also given given laptop by CG Govt to final year students.

Campus Life

3.5

In first year campus was not much developed but next year good infrastructure like conference hall, canteen, any good administration hall were constructed. Students were having healthy infrastructure and no discrimination on the grounds of age, sex, caste, race or religion. Even ragging students was strictly prohibited and 1st year students were sheltered under the observation of management so that seniors could not rag any junior student. I participated in robotics events, debates and inter-college events like quiz, robotics, and many more. workshop was provided for every students willing to do their academic project in college. Computer labs and libraries were infra-structured.

Hostel Facilities

3

I didn't live in hostel so i cant rate it. But i live in PG and i had to pay 1100 rs rent when i was living in sharing room. And food cost was about 1500 rs . And including other miscellaneous expenses i had ask my parents for 4500 rs every month. Transporting fee was very high in my college so i was used to go with my with by sharing 50% cost of fueling his bike.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. Seniors were always helpful whether it was to clear the exams with flying marks or to arrange notes for the exam preparation. Interaction with seniors with first year juniors was not allowed for anti ragging purpose but when came to their core semesters, seniors could easily interact with juniors. Seniors always asked junior's help for organizing any event or fest and juniors also did the same. overall interaction with seniors was very helpful for successful completion of engineering

Exam Structure

Every students doing their B.E. from CSVTU Bhilai had to face hectic and pressure building exam pattern that we were not given much days to prepare between exams. We had to give 2 semester exam in every year. Each semester exams were hectic. But this is also true that exam is never a relaxing, In this way i would say every student looking for higher studies have to put much more effort so that he/she can manage the pressure of work field. I am doing job right now and when i compare my exams and work load, i find exams lighter than work load. I was bright student during my college days as well as school days so i had no complaints for exams. Its a part of career building steps of every graduate and i feel good that i have scored very good marks in my academics.

Admission

First step to get into the college was entrance exam and after qualify the exam I went through counseling round for allotment of college of interest. When results of counseling were announced,i was not happy with allotted college but my parents didn't allow me for 2nd counseling. Then i went to visit the college campus and faculties were very good and supportive to detail me about the college. So i had to choose the college which was not of my interest. But now i realize that my parents decision was right as i have maintained good academic and flying marks with sound knowledge of engineering aptitude.

Faculty

4.5

Overall engineering studies depends upon the faculties capacities to draw the concepts in students mind. Faculties were well trained in their particular subjects with sound knowledge and practical applications of engineering ideas.Faculties of Fluid Dynamics,Thermodynamics, Machine Design, Manufacturing Science and other core mechanical subjects were having good concepts about their subjects. I got different types of guidance by them during my academic projects and workshop programs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this college because this college provide us good infrastructure, good faculties and it is situated at the good place. College lack in preapring curriculum for real-world applications for further pursuits. But they are trying to improve their curriculum from new session. our classes starts from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Improvement is needed in placement area and company approaches on campus .

To be honest placement scenario is not really good. One becomes eligible for placement in the final year. Companies like cognizant used to visit the college for mass recruitment but after covid even they are not visiting. But few startups visit every year. The highest package this year was 12 lpa ctc. And avg 6 lpa. Only 30 percent get placement. My plan is to do M TECH.
