IIM Ahemdabad- The dream college of MBA aspirant

I chose this course because I realised I have the soft skills necessary for a great manager. I wish to lead and work with great people in the future and become the best version of myself on this journey. This course shall teach me to become not just a great manager but a great person too. IIM Ahmedabad has an elective on Bhagavad gita and the managerial lessons from it. I really look forward to learning from professors who have done their PhDs in respective subjects and some even have job experience.

Summer internships are offered in the college by companies like McKinsey and co. Bain and co. TCS and many more. Summer internships are for 3 months with an average stipend of 2 lakhs per month and the highest goes to 3.5 lakhs. Some pre-placement offers are also given to students and overall the exposure to the corporate world is world-class.

IIMs offer 100% placement and the average package of IIM A is 31 lpa which is quite great. Highest packages come close to 1 crore. Every student gets the opportunity of a summer internship program in the 1st year and some are offered pre placement offers too. After the second year students get placed in huge companies with great packages and tend to have a lavish life. IIM A alumni network is very strong too and students get to be inspired by great leader like Ajay Banga who is currently the CEO of Mastercard and nominated to be World Bank CEO too.

The fees of IIMs are huge but you can get a loan from any bank which accounts for all your expenses over the course of 2 years. The banks provide a great ROI and you can pay after you land a job in 3 years. Students also get merit-based scholarships that are established by companies and also some alumni.

Seeing from what others share with me, campus life at IIMA is going to be a lifetime experience. The campus is huge with all amenities, sports clubs, gyms, societies, etc. Students have to learn to manage their time well in order to keep at par with their studies and also extracurricular activities.

The hostel rooms are said to be great in terms of infrastructure and also have AC in almost all of them. Some are available in twin sharing and some in single sharing. The hostel fee is included in the yearly fees of the college which shall be taken care of by the loan too. The meals are said to be hygienic and tasty too. It's the top management school in India so its standard is of top class too.

It's a postgraduate program so you should have an undergraduate degree, I did my bachelors from miranda house DU. Then I wrote the CAT exam which happens every year in the month of November every year. You can get all the information about CAT exam, pattern, syllabus and the best colleges in India from a youtuber named CATKING. All this information can also be availed from the official site of CAT examinations. I belong to NC OBC category and we have reserved seats in every IIM, so yes I was able to avail the reserved quota. Students from SC, ST, OBC and EWS backgrounds can also avail the same. The application fee of the form is somewhere around 1000 to 2000, you shall be notified about the same from the official website atleast 2 months before the exam. For getting into the top colleges you need 95 to 100 percentile if from nonreservation

We have an interview process for all the items that give you a call. It consists of Writing Ability Test where you have ten minutes to write on a topic announced on the spot. This is followed by a personal interview where the interviewers gauge your communication skills and ask you HR questions as well as general knowledge. I prepared for these rounds by reading newspapers on a daily basis and also by preparing a brief answer to all likely HR questions.
