A short review on Msc.(Tech.)Applied Geophysics Course at Kurukshetra University

The course is very exciting and you will be able to get employment in the oil and Gas sectors such as PSUs and other good private sector companies such as Halliburton and Schlumberger. The faculty of the Department is very experienced they are having vast experience in their field There are in total 25 seats. Professors in the Department are Highly experienced some of them are retired Scientists from research institutes. Exams are conducted on time and the results were also declared timely, the exams are very easy to be cleared and a student can score good percentile.

There are no boundaries on internships, you can do internships as per your wish, either in private companies or in any research institutes. The dissertation is of Four months and is to be held over 6 semesters so a student will get a chance to work on a project in his area of interest.

Placement is average in the Department, good companies usually visit to the Department for placements. Average placements are around 350000L manually. 70% of the students easily get placement offers. You can also get an opportunity to work as a project associate in different research institutes.

Fees may vary every year but the average fee is 17k approx annually. This course is very good in terms of scholarship, if you are under ews or any category you will be receiving 100000 scholarships from ONGC. Scholarships can also be availed by backward class category students when they are studying at University.

Ratnawali is the most popular annual fest at the university. They are three libraries for the students and a seperate library for research scholars. Good working projectors are installed in every class.

Hostel is good as compared to the fees , good facilities are provided to students like watercoolers, palying grounds , common room . Quality of mess food is average, but for research scholars the quality of food is awesome. There are many PGs available for both boys and girls outside the campus at Affordable prices but most of the PGs are available for girls only.

There is no entrance exam for the course, only admission is done on a merit base. You can fill out the application form for the course on the Kurukshetra University website. Special seats are reserved for reserved classes and foreign students. Those who have completed their graduation from Haryana will be given a state quota.
