Remarks

Overall my experience was not bad, there are areas for improvement surely but otherwise it's very well college.

Entrance Preview

I had completed my Diploma in engineering in nagpur and wanted to opt for college with good infrastructure and good placement track record. On visit i saw these two criteria matching and decided to go for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum has recently been updated and at par with DTE and AICTE guidelines. Focus on research was a little problematic as there wasn't clear policy of aid to students wanting to research but the staff was very supportive none the less. However students were encouraged to participate in external events and faculties also brought on projects. The college was one of the centers of AKASH android development centers of IIT Powar.

Internships Opportunities

College didn't provide for internship in my time for my branch. I did hear of few students and my friends of core branches getting placement in mahindra and mahindra through. They seemed happy with the experience.

Placement Experience

3.5

Job opportunities and placement are plenty provided you have had good academic track record. It's a tata consultancy service's accredited college meaning they always place students from the college. Core company's placement was not that good and some questionable backdoor entry companies also came recruiting. But except that good companies like Tech M, TCS , Cognizant, Collabera also came

College Events

4

Events were plenty but not huge. Mostly there were departmental events with people from all over town participating. Management events were less in number as more focus was on technical and cultural events. Every department had their own students body with sizable budget. College level committees like Entrepreneurship development cell, NSS and NCC along with technical forums were also there. They also had a BAJA team.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees was quite reasonable for the faculties and education they offer. In my time it was around 90000 in my second year and went upto 95000 till my final year. Students were allowed to fill fees in installments and loan assistance was provided. A very cordial scholarship department that conducted scholarship programs by divestment is there.

Fees and Financial Aid

College assists to avail state government and central government scholarships. Due to accrediting status, banks also provide education loans easily to students with just a proof of admission and few other documents.

Campus Life

5

Campus life was vibrant. Always full of people. Lots of free time also. Students are diverse, mostly from North india and maharashtra and some from South India and north east as well. Events were plenty and of fair quality. The diversity never created problem of any conflicts but students mostly stay within the group of common interests.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are 5 hostels of college but I never stayed in any so can't comment on them. I heard they were good though. I stayed in the town in a private PG and PG and hostel facilities are plenty around college and also in the city. It's one of the most affordable city to live into. A double sharing PG with all amenities can be found for 1500-2000pm . Mess facilities are also cheap ranging from 1500-2500 per month. Strict anti ragging policy was implemented in the hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

I haven't had any such experience of alumni yet. College has its own alumni network and registry but it's not very active . Alumni aren't very interested in coming back to college either. Some do come for interacting with students but most prefer to their current life only. I hope to see it changed.

Exam Structure

Exams were not very frequent but in sufficient amount. Two midterms and one semester in 6 months. Labs were A//C and we were allowed to use them any time we wanted. That never put a stress on us. The campus is vast with canteens, cafes, swimming pool, a lagoon and lot of greenery which in fact helped us to be fresher than outside world.

Admission

Whole admission process was breezy. I had opted to go through Maharashtra state's online CAP procedure. On getting shortlisted in first list I went to college where administration was very co-operative and helping. My admission was finalized in mere half hour.

Faculty

4

Faculties are well educated, soft spoken most times (except few exceptions). However teaching methods should be updated with more focus on industry needs. Sone were very initiated members and some quite reserved in their teaching style. However everyone was serious about completing course and getting good results for the college.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources

The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.
