Likes
- The teaching style of each professor is unique and very professional. They explain in such a way that every single student understands the concepts.
- Hosting of different coding events and competions each week. Bug finding contest, pattern making contest using a programming language etc. The events are not just limited to coding though.
- Affordable transport facilities for students living far away.
Dislikes
- The use of hindi is more than that of english. Though it is not a negative point since many students understand hindi far better than English. But in future every student requires to know good English to get a decent job.
- Very few restrictions over clothing and uniforms.
- Infrastructure maintenance is not given much priority. It should be done on a regular basis.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course to enhance my knowledge in the field of computer science and make my way toward my dream of becoming a software engineer. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:45 which is comfortable for both students and professors while teaching. Professors are highly qualified most of them have master's degrees but all of them have a minimum bachelor's degree.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Biju's, Swiggy, ONGC, SAIL, and various startups provide many learning opportunities for students. Do they offer roles like marketing executive, sales manager, tutor, junior software developer, etc. with around? 10,000 stipend per month. The students are given intermediate-level projects like promoting their brand through professional sales techniques, building a user interface for their apps, etc.
Placement Experience
Students can become eligible for campus after the 6th semester. They can start internships in the 5th semester. There are over a hundred companies visiting the college and offering options each year. Some noteworthy mentions are Amazon, Accenture, Infosys, Paytm, Byjus, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, etc. The highest package last year was 40 lakh per annum from amazon. The placement percentage is 80-90% for CS and IT branches for others it's around 60-70%. My plan is to work at the company I get placed in and continue my own business.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is fixed to ?80,000 per year which is broken into ?40,000 per semester. Hostel, transportation and sports have their separate fees. The college provides many opportunities for scholarship based on students merits and financial status. They also provide various convenient loans to students.
Campus Life
There's a new fest or program almost every week. Dance, singing, coding contests, movie day, and many more. Besides them, there are also annual fests and tech fests like IdeaFest and Vyom fest. The library is filled with books on any subject imaginable with each shelf covering the latest edition of the books. Each classroom has a wide blackboard/whiteboard and a projector. Computer rooms have enough systems for a class at a time. Free WIFI is available throughout the campus.
Admission
Eligibility of this course as per the CGPET(Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test) for 2023 was around a minimum of 50 marks out of 150. Application forms for getting admission to this college can be found on their official website i.e. https://rungta.ac.in/. Alternatively, you can visit their main branch Bhilai. Online fee payment methods need improvement in their online admission process.
