I have a passionate coder since 9th standard so B.Tech was the obvious choice for me. Another reason was that I always topped in PCM in school without taking any stress so I thought Engineering will be the perfect fit. IIT was my dream since 10th standard because my mother's bestfriends son got admitted in IIT Kanpur Faculty to student ratio balanced. A single subject is divided between 3 faculty members alongwith Teaching assistants Maximum faculty members are alumni of IITs themselves and have pursued Post Doc from foreign universities in USA, UK, Germany. Faculty is very learned and have immense knowldege surpassing even their domain. Teaching style differs from professor to professor but most of them are young so they understand and teach according to students. Mid sems and End sems are conducted with 3 quizzed before mid and end sems. Reading PPTs and notes of the professor alongwith previous year question papereven just 3 days before exam are sufficient to get a good grade.

The internship profiles are the same as the placement profiles. Divulging company-wise stipends is prohibited. I interned with Microsoft in 2022 summer and got also bagged a PPO. Divulging project details is forbidden.

If one is in B.Tech they become eligible in the 7th semester for placements and the 5th semester for internships. If one is in IDD (B.Tech + Mtech) they come eligible in the 9th and 7th semesters for placements and internships respectively. 300 companies visited for placement with JPMC, Oracle, Deloitte, Microsoft, etc. hired maximum students (PPOs included). Offers made for 1200 students. Maximum CTC - 1.2 Cr (2022 - 2.5 Cr) Above data up to 8th day of placement. Profiles - SDE, quant, DS/ML, DA, Products, Consulting, Core. Divulging company-wise package details is prohibited. I am placed at Microsoft as Software Engineer and will be joining the same in 2023 summer after graduation.

Fees were last hiked in around 2016 when the tuition fee for SC/ST was made zero. The general category has to pay 106350 per semester which includes the hostel fee. For availing mess facility one has to pay 12000. General category students may have to pay less amount depending on their financial condition. Institute regularly posts notifications regarding various scholarships funded by States/centers/Alumni. The campus placement cell is excellent. Everybody gets placed (irrespective of the branch) provided they have put in a decent amount of hard work. All big tech, product management, analyst, and banks come to IIT BHU. The average package is 25lpa.

The annual Cultural fest is Kashiyatra and conducted in January, Annual Technical fest is Technex conducted in February, The annual Sports fest is Spardha conducted in September/October. IIT BHU has a big library with vast resources of books and journals. The library has an AC facility and 4 big large reading rooms. Classrooms are soundproof and have a blackboard and smart boards. Depending on the department one may have AC too. IIT BHU has 4 councils - Cultural, Film & Media, Sports, Science & Technology. Each has different clubs and IIT BHU is the perfect place to hone your all-around skills. You name it and we have a club with experienced seniors and alumni to guide their juniors. All the clubs and councils have their Instagram pages. Some of the clubs are dance, quiz, literary, Indian & western music, aeromodelling, astronomy, coding, business, media, outreach, cine, badminton, aquatics, and volleyball. This is not even half the list.

Each room has - Fan, 2 tube lights, 2 LAN ports, 4 plug sockets, 2 bulb holders, 2 almirahs, 2 beds, 2 tables, 2 chairs, and 2 windows. Girls' hostel has an attached personal balcony with the rooms. All hostels have a common hall, badminton and volleyball courts, and large lawns which have seasonal flowers and fruit trees. IIT BHU has 13 hostels + 2 Sattvic mess. Girls and boys can register in only their respective gender mess or sattvic mess. Each mess has a different menu and quality. But one can be sure that among all IITs, IIT BHU has the best food. Every semester with registration, hostel registration is automatically done. Hostel seat rent is only 300.

To get into IIT(BHU) one has to clear JEE ADVANCED in their respective category. All details related to admission will be found on the JEE ADV site which is conducted every year by a different IIT. Latest Seat matrix and category-wise cutoff for each IIT are on the JOSAA page. In 2019, the opening rank for CSE was around 580 for the general category and the closing rank for the institute was around 12k general category. The admission process is smooth and hassle free.
