Course Curriculum Overview
This course is beneficial for students with a core interest in physics and aspiring to be a scientist or professors. There are 72 students in the master's program and two faculty for each paper of the semester. So, overall 10 professors and other assistant professors teach in theory and lab classes. Teachers are highly renowned and qualified. Labs have sufficient apparatus but they aren't maintained timely and need to be checked. Term exams are a little late and it's not that tough if you have done the previous year's questions.
Internships Opportunities
Not many companies visited and provided internships. Students try to get mainly online internships. Few research scholars get project work from the Uttar Pradesh government and are paid accordingly for the project work.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement in the second year only. Only a few companies visit and the salary offered is around five to six lakhs per annum. Many students try off-campus placement and got jobs as a teacher, and lecturers in government inter-college, and a few alumni are in ISRO and DRDO too.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are minimal according to a state university. UP government scholarship, Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya yojna, And many other scholarships for research and innovation are provided by the University. Professors help and provide financial assistance in research. Not many companies visit for campus placement but students excel in NET, GATE, and other exams.
Campus Life
Annual fests, PHYSOC, and DEBASOC societies conduct different programs. The physics department has a departmental Library which is having thousands of books related to physics and other unexplored areas of physics. Tagore Library is also there which is the central library of the University of Lucknow. Sports week and inter hostel tournaments, inter-college tournaments are also organized. The placement cell and physics society of LU is run by students.
Admission
Eligibility is B.Sc. in Physics as a major subject. The application form is available on the official website of Lucknow university around the month of June - July. Reservation is provided to OBC/SC/ST/EWS. The admission process can be faster by declaring the entrance exam result soon after the exam.
