A wonderful journey of B Design Fashion @KIFD

I wanted to become a Fashion Designer and I had decided on this for a long. The faculty-student ratio is good as the batches here are compact. Faculties here are highly qualified, having in-depth knowledge of their subjects. They explain the concept very beautifully. We have midterm exams which are conducted in the institute and annual exams which are conducted by the university.

There are many designers where students get internships only through the institute. Students also get time adjusted for the internship so that their classes are donor hamper. Jass and Jassi, Dulhan, Morni, Dhanlxmi Trends and many more

Placements are provided by the institute. They also conduct campus interviews. 4th-year students are eligible for the campus interviews. Students commence their internship in 3rd year. Which is initially unpaid but after we perform we can get a stipend as well. The percentage is above 60 as the teaching is very good here. Many students prefer starting their own label. I would want to work in a corporate company for some years to gain knowledge and experience then would decide if I want to continue working or start my own business.

The fee is 75000/- per year and we can pay in instalments as well. The fees get reduced in the last year so that the balance amount can be utilised in the preparation of the fashion show. Our institute is affiliated with Government recognised University and hence students who fall under SC/ ST/ OBC can avail of government scholarships. A student loan can also be easily provided which lessens the fee burden on parents who are unable to pay the fees. We have yearly exhibitions wherein we display the garments we make that are for sale as well. many students get new orders from the customers. Internships are also provided which gives us experience and confidence at the same time.

Since we are in the Institute, we do have an annual fest, but here we celebrate each and every festival. We have freshers' parties, farewell parties, Diwali parties, New year parties and many other small events. We have a decent number of referral books for our course. Faculties also provide detailed notes which makes us easy to understand the syllabus. Our entire institute is the air conditioner. we have a projector room and conference rooms as well. We have workshops and seminars every month. We have several competitions quarterly to enhance our other skills.

Since our institute is located in the mid of the city. We have several hostels within walking distance. Food quality is also quite good. We can also get references for hostels from the institute. The registration process is simple and an average of 6000 to 7000rs is the cost of the hostels with breakfast lunch and dinner.

Eligibility was 12 pass certificate. One can get all the information on google, visit the Institute or KIFD website. I couldn't avail of the government scholarship as I fall under the general category. The process is simple and easy to understand.
