Avantika's truth

I would say , there are many people in communication design and industrial design here. Fashion design students are less very less...like 6-7 students in first year. I would prefer nift for fashion design. Teaching methods can be improved as I said I feel stressed with so many assignments. It would have been better if they gave one or two assignments and at least 2-3 days for each assignment and tell us to focus on that. They should teach softwares by doing the assignment themselves first...so that we can learn it fast the tools and stuff. But they do help us in classrooms whenever we go and ask them about our queries.

Well I talked with the seniors and they seem satisfied with their internships. The internship starts from 3rd year. Many students get the job in second year too if their work is really great and likes by the jurors. I haven't given internship yet as I am in first year right now. But the maximum package I heard was of 10,00,000 . Depends on your ability and creativity.

No idea about placements for now. But I heard they are good. Maximum package was of 10 lakh I guess. From 3rd year internships starts. Many students start working from 2nd year . Many times the Jury also give offers to the students if their work is really great.

To be honest the fees is kind of high. It's 4,00,000 per year and 2,00,000 for hostel and mess. The bus facility is provided to hostel students for free. Hostel room is nice. Surroundings is peaceful as well. There is a big balcony a common balcony and its my favourite place in the hostel. But there are two hostel buildings for girls. The first one has the big common balcony but the second one doesn't have that. But the second hostel building has bigger rooms and wooden furnitures. Though I still prefer the first building as there is this beautiful balcony. The mess food is nice. It's really good sometimes but most of the times it's just like simple mess food...just something you can eat. Scholarships are provided according to the marks you get in the main exam that is taken before the admission. I got 20% scholarship as well. Extra expenses are there too...if you are going for college trips then you need to pay accordingly. Canteen food is really good and really cheap prices. The masala dosa for example is of 50rs and its a big dosa and a really delicious one. Teachers are really good , always ready to help. Safety is there. It rains too much here. The weather here changes really often. Amazon , Flipkart and meesho parcel facility is here as well... there is no swiggy, Zomato etc. Ujjain is half an hour away from the college , so you can go there from the college bus anyday and buy what you need and comeback. Indore outing bus is also provided every Sunday from morning to evening. Indore is 2 hours away from here. The Indore bus goes everyday though as some faculties also are from indore. I usually go on Friday from that bus and comeback on Monday whenever I go on night pass so it's really convenient. Dj nights, quizzes , competitions , game night type of fun activities are also provided on special days. The wifi is really bad here though...it works but not as much as we need. So it's really annoying most of the times. But you can get it repaired by complaining.

Dj nights are held many times , pizza party , halloween night , garba night , campfire, Standup comedy, movie night , game night. The enjoyment is full. Free therapy is there too online. On a site mydost. They take care of the mental health really well. Students run all the clubs . There is cycling club , rangnaad club for dance , art etc. social clubs like to do social services to the villagers around or the college staff who works here. Movie clubs. Game clubs. Students themselves have to put an idea in front of the club head and they can make it happen. Any event or fun activities. Sports is also there , football, basketball, cricket, tennis. Gym is there too with trainers. Carrom and badminton is there too. Washrooms are also nice and clean. Hot water is there too but it stops working many times so you need to complain about it and it will work fine again. Competitions are there too many many.

So, hostel is good. There are two girls hostels and one boy hostel as girls are more. One faculty building is there because some faculties live here only like stay here only. If you are sick you can ask the warden mam to provide the food in rooms. I would say the medical facility is just ok ok here. Most of the time the nurse is not here. Though in case of emergency at night , someone is always there to treat you. There are 3 tables in tripple occupancy room , two shelves with enough space. White walls. White almirahs. They are big enough to store your things. You can bring hangers too. Three chairs and three beds. The bed is not that comfortable but it's okay. Bedsheets are provided and you can give it in laundary too but being your bedsheets as well. Pillow covers too. 2,00,000 rs for hostel I think it's pretty nice as it includes laundary as well. I would suggest don't give expensive clothes there as it gets ruin sometimes. Don't give small clothes like your undergarments and handkerchief because they are thrown on the floor as they don't wash those items. Hostel is better than PG tbh at least you don't have to travel in bus every morning. You have to wake up early for that. In hostel , you can easily wake up at 9 and go at 10 am. There is one washroom in every room. Water is clean. Cleaning is done regularly here. In the starting there were many lizards and bees but after coming back here after diwali there are no bees and lizards in the room anymore. They take care of hygiene really well. Mess food is just okok but sometimes it's just delicious. Cup noodles are provided on the counter for night cravings. Ice creams and chocolates and buttermilk, lassi too. Fruits are not provided much...they are provided in morning only in breakfast. Hot milk and tea is provided in snacks. Fan is there and cooler is there too. Okay this was about the hostel 1. Now second hostel is bigger but has very small balconies attached to the rooms. But it has wooden furnitures and bigger

Admission process : fill the form , then you get some work to create and submit it , on the basis of that they give marks and then if you pass the first round then set a date for an online interview ( PI ) and on the basis of that they give you admission and scholarship. I tried to give nid but the exam questions were absurd. To be honest I didn't like the questions at all. They asked us to draw the process of making potato chips and things like that. I was so disheartened after what I studied and practiced for that exam but the exam syllabus is really tough. There is no fixed syllabus for NID so it's hard to pass it. Instead of that exam I really enjoyed doing the avantika university 's exam questions. They asked us to create a poster that was what a design student would do...it was fun to make that.

More girls than boys , faculties are enough I guess. Faculties are approachable, friendly and really nice. Gauri mam , vishwadeep sir , madan sir , Ankit sir they are all really good . Very supportive and creative. They are really good teachers. Dheeraj sir is also very nice and understanding towards the students. Only one main exam is there in every sem. That is the jury. The exhibitions are held after completion of every course and its a good feeling to exhibit what we made in the whole course. Only thing I feel a bit off is that I feel like they could teach us more. They give assignments more like too much assignments but I feel stressed many times because I don't know how to do that. We don't know how to use softwares yet , that's what they should teach us...they should give us time to first learn the software but they give assignments too much that it's not manageable at times. But if you go and ask what you are troubling with to the faculties, they will teach you, explain you how to do that. But it would feel better if they themselves make a round in the class and see who is troubling with what. Jury can be hard or easy , it depends on the juros. You just need to be confident enough with what you have done the whole semester. Course curriculum is good . There is no faculty that I didn't like here. Everyone is really nice .

There was a creative exam test , where they gave us two things to create , like they gave 5-6 things but we need to choose any 2 , can make digitally or manually both. After you last that test with good marks , there is an online interview taken. And then you get the admission and the scholarship if you performed well enough. I took art class for these exams because I was preparing for NID , cept etc. the interviewier was really friendly at least the one who took my interview. I really enjoyed doing those questions. The poster and we need to create a chat, a human and any non living thing so I chose book and man , phone and man. And made a comic page with those chats. I joined art forte in jaipur. I would suggest you search more institutions though because I found the fees high here. Also also , I forgot to mention that you have to submit portfolio as well. In the portfolio you need to put your best works , whatever you made. And make your portfolio as creative and attractive as you can. Because that also helps in the scholarship process. I also met one of the faculties from avantika university in art forte as they came for promoting there. They made us do a fun activity with spread water colours however you want on the paper and let it dry and draw what you see . It was so fun and interesting. They gave us a whole introduction about their college and that's when I started liking avantika university. We visited the college and I liked it very much. Teachers are the most amazing thing here. Good speaking skills , basic drawing, it would be better if you practice human figures and typography, perspective and small stuff like those because that will be needed in the college. It will be better if you practice them in advance. You will have it easy in college that way.

Night life is mostly dead. On special days like halloween, garba, children's day etc. dj nights and pizza parties are held. Outside the college there is only Greenery lol. There is one small cafe but I didn't like it much maybe because I am vegetarian and I can't stand non veg because of the smell. That cafe is good for a lil cheer up mood. Cute Dogs are there too. It's just on walking distance from the college. There are fox here. Some people saw hyena here so avoid going late night. Though there is security guards with guns. Snakes are seen often here. You need to report to campus at 9:45 sometimes and most of the times 10:00 am which is pretty good for a girl like me. Library is there, one week is the issue time. Classes get over at 5pm like 5 pm is last . After that 5:30 there are snacks provided sometimes maggi is there too ???????????? we wait for those days though we can make Maggi anytime in the pantry in the hostel. 8pm dinner time ! People go for a walk then and 10pm hostel !!
