What Students Say

Likes

I really like my campus and the weather here in Ropar.

Dislikes

But the campus is little too far from cities like Chandigarh.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have wanted to do electrical engineering since high school, so I chose this course at IIT Ropar. The male-female student ratio is decent. The term exam is held on a regular basis, and the difficulty level of the exam is challenging.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite simple; we have to pay for each term: our hostel fees and our college fees. There are plenty options of scholarship opportunities on our campus for a student who needs financial assistance.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest and tech fest of IIT Ropar usually happens one after the other in the month of March. The library has ACs and wifi where students can sit and study comfortably. The clubs are active and conduct regular activities.

Admission

The admission was pretty smooth for me. All the required forms and guidelines are given in the JOSAA portal. The eligibility criteria is to clear the 12th boards and JEE Mains exam and then clearing the JEE Advanced exam.

Exploring life at Chandigarh University

Likes

Good and modern campus infrastructure. The university is large, modern with good classrooms, labs, hostels and tec.
Most teachers are knowledgeable, supportive and explain concepts clearly.
The university provides placement drives, training sessions, career guidance and etc.

Dislikes

Large student intake. Due to high number of students, sometimes it can be difficult to get individual attention from faculty.
During peak hours, some areas of the campus can be crowded.
The quality of hostel food is not much satisfying.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Chandigarh University are generally good, with students becoming eligible for campus placements in the later semesters, dependiing on their course. Many companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering roles in IT, engineering, management and other fields. The packages vary by company and profile with some students receiving high packages while others get average entry-level offers. Placement opportunities depend on student skills, academic performance and interview preparation. After completing my degree, I plan to secure a good job in my field, gain practical experience and continue developing my technical and professional skills.
