Remarks
The college management overall is good. I would recommend the college to others. Despite being a women's college it is on par excellence with other co-ed colleges.
Entrance Preview
On the contrary to the popular means such as EAMCET and JEE, I did not write any entrance exam on the account of being an NRI. I got admission under B Category for NRI/ NRI Sponsorship, the process involves the filling of an admission application and tgereby getting selected on the means of it solely. If you aren't NRI, you will either have to write EAMCET or JEE to get into GNITS.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum and structure is as per JNTUH. We have both practical labs and theory classes, that balance one another. The year is divided into two semesters as per the new system. All the necessities that your choice of opted stream requires is present in the syllabus.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internships through the placement centre to the students from various companies. I'm not much aware of the stipend.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities are one of a kind. 90% placements are provided to CSE students. The placement offers are received from JBMC, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture and many other companies. The placements bring forth a stipend starting from 6-8 lacs.
College Events
We have a lot of clubs in our college, Literature Club that is Literaria Clav, Cultural Club, Sports Club and a few others hold their own fests that last for a day. These are inter and also intra. Minor clubs such as CSI, Cybersurds, Persona etc hold their own events. We also have Photography and Art Clubs in the campus. Street Cause and Rotaract are other two major associations in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is both feasible and expensive. Feasible in terms of other top colleges but expensive over all. The fee structure for all the different categories are clearly mentioned in the college website. For B Category the fee is around $5000 and for the others it is around ₹1 lac.
Fees and Financial Aid
As far I know, the college does provide scholarships for students. Every year scholarships are provided infact, and many avail this opportunity. But the details and criteria are unknown to me.
Campus Life
The college is a Women's College. There are many extracurricular and cocurricular activities present in the college. With an enormous number of clubs and sessions held these are possible. The fests are quite good, but lack in attention gathering. The college is in fact a Hindu Majority with a few Muslim students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is not something to brag about, both AC and non-AC rooms are available. The college has a strict no non-vegetarian rule. So that's a disappointment for all non-veg lovers. There are two hostel blocks, well guarded and strict security. The parents aren't allowed to enter the hostel premises. The food at the cafeteria is good enough better than most colleges. Both hostel and canteen offer only vegetarian menus
Alumni/Alumna
Yes definitely the alumni and senior students are very much helpful especially through the various clubs. The interactions are good.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is fine, it is quite well planned and prior time is provided for reviewing and revising the portion. The practical exams happen before the main exams and hence forth do not cause a lot of stress. As per JNTUH, all major and final exams are conducted elsewhere for GNITS students, the college provides bus facility to everyone during this peak strain time.
Admission
After accessing the admission form, in my case (i.e NRI) the college either takes you in or out on the basis of your 12th and 10th grade result memos. You need to score a percentage above 85%, this will guarantee a seat in NRI category. Later on, a list is released with the names of the selected candidates who undergo an interview along with their parents.
Faculty
The faculty is well versed and experienced in their respective fields. They are all indeed approachable, since that is one quality that most students look out in teachers it is worth a mention. The non teaching staff is friendly and caring too. Some of the faculty members have PhD in their respective topics, so hence they provide an explanations expertly.
