Course Curriculum Overview

Since my childhood, I want to be an electrical engineer so I choose this course. the faculty members are so friendly to students and always help students in their studies. All faculty members do p.hd in their own course. the teaching methods of faculties are so simple and understandable to students. there are 2 surprises, 2 quiz tests and 2 internal exams held in a semester. there are some difficulties faced by students because the exam session is straight. There is no way to cheat in exams.

Class Size: 54Course Fees: INR 70000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The college offered us internships for students. there are two types of the internship is available. one is summer internships and winter internships. Mainly NPTELA group give the opportunity to students for internship.

Placement Experience

From 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. the Wipro, Jindal, Edge telecom, Mubea etc. about 90 per cent of students are eligible for the campus. the highest package the company offers is 9 lacs per annum and the average package as per the company is 3 lacs Per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fee is pocket friendly. there are no hidden charges. the course fee is good compared to other colleges. we have changed to bringing notes from the library. College provided girls scholarships for girls. the college also provided a campus for all types of students. A good student got a job and also an average student also gets a job

Campus Life

Every year college makes a musical night every Saturday night. Also, annual sports are held in our college. Thursday of every week 2 hours of hobby club will be arranged for students Hobby. our college has a central library in which every essential study material is available. everyday newspaper is also available in our library. our classroom is big as normal. it contains A/C and projector system also. In our college, all sports are available.

Hostel Facilities

in our hostel a warden is provided for the hosteller students.The meal is good and healthy.hotel gives us breakfast,lunch and dinner.in breakfast it provides puri bada upma uttapam matar curry. in lunch Rice roti dal,veg curry egg curry Chicken curry panner curry Manchurian etc.in dinner Roti Rice dal chole sweet egg tadka chike fish dalma fires etc

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

Our college admission process is simple first you have to submit your application form to the college offline and online applications are also available then you have to come to the college for reporting it takes up to 1 day. the college has not conducted any entrance exam for admission it's based on your jee and ojee percentile. student choose their course by themselves there are no eligibility criteria for any courses. we can apply application form from the college or online also. yaa reservation benefits are also available through tfw schemes. no need to improve the admission process it's simple and faster.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

A Decent Experience

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

My College Life.

Placement Experience:

Students after 5th semester are allowed to get pre placement training. And then from 7th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited to our college for recruitment are like TCS, Accenture,Zenus, Infosys etc Average package in my college is 8LPA and the highest package of this year is 25LPA. Almost 70 percent students get placement. My plan is to get a job as a Software Engineer in Google with a package of 30LPA.

Best College in this Budget

I applied in SOA and Trident Academy because of the high course fee ,i didn't do the addmission. Gift is Autonomous college and my elder brother preferred me this college and the fee is affordable.
