Remarks
The admission process started off with writing the CAT (Common Admission Test), which is admissible to all students with an undergraduate (bachelor's) degree. Once that is qualified, there is a detailed admission form that needs to be filled up, including a Statement of Purpose and recommendations. This is then followed by a Writing Assessment (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very comprehensive and builds the foundations of management with subjects like Marketing, Operations, Organization Behaviour, Statistics, Economics, etc., during the first three terms. In the third term, we are also given the option to choose electives. The second year is completely elective-based and allows students to pursue courses of their interest. The faculty: student ratio is very high which allows students to easily have one on one interactions with the faculty. All faculty members are highly qualified and the admin is very particular about following the schedule for classes & exams.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are excellent and among the best in India. Companies visit the campus for a variety of roles, including consulting, finance, general management, product management, operations, marketing, etc. Students get placed in their dream organizations very often and the stipend offered is very lucrative. The average & median stipend is between 1.75-2 Lakh per month, and a lot of students are able to convert their summer internship into a pre-placement offer for the final placements.
Placement Experience
The placements are very good with 100% of students getting placed. The summer placement process begins in the first year itself around August & the placement week is in early November for summer internships. The final placements happen in late January to early February of the second year. A lot of renowned names come to the campus for placements and students receive offers in their desired domains. All major consulting firms & investment banks visit the campus and give out offers. The average placement package last year was 28.5 LPA. Students get placed in varied domains including consulting, finance, general management, product management, marketing, sales, operations, human resources, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is such that annual fees are about 12.25 Lacs and another 1 Lac rupees for hostel & mess fees. Apart from that, there are no intermediate hikes or changes in the fee structure, as well as any additional fee, is not required. The course is a bit on the expensive side, but there are easy loan options available on campus and financial assistance is available from the institute for the needy. The campus placements ensure that every student can easily repay the loan.
Campus Life
The campus life is very vibrant with a lot of sports & cultural activities, fests, and events held on a regular basis. There are several clubs & societies which cater to everyone's interests apart from academics. The annual business fests, Vista and Eximius are held in the months of August & July respectively. The cultural fest, Unmaad is held in the month of February. Apart from these, there are inter-IIM sports competitions, namely Sangram & Sangharsh which foster the sports culture on the campus. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art sports infrastructure to enable sportspersons to train well. The campus also houses a huge library with books on almost any subject under the sun, a medical center, food courts, and convenience stores within the campus.
Hostel Facilities
A hostel facility is given to all students as this is a fully residential program. Students can choose to find their own accommodation and stay out of campus during the second year, however, almost no student avails this option as the accommodation is pretty good. A table, chair, bed with mattress & linen are provided in the room along with a cupboard & bookshelf. A whiteboard is also given as standard.
Interview Experience
The first round was a written test with three sections: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. The test was followed by a Writing Ability Test on a topic of general interest and a Personal Interview with a panel of professors. I prepared for the Interview by mostly going through past academics, and being a fresher, and the interview was on those lines only.
