Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is rather hectic, minimum of 8 subjects in each trimester. And in MBA, there are multiple activities as well to which every student has to abide. There are case competitions, internship preparations, and overall personality development programs that take nights. The faculty is very qualified, every faculty holds Ph.D. from a reputed university and have extensive experience in their respective domains. They are consistently involved in government projects and research. Passing the exams is not an easy task, the students have to study hard to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Over 100 companies visit for summer internships, and students are eligible from the first trimester. The placement committee assists the process completely and the average stipend is 2 lakhs for 2 months.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for final placements from the fourth trimester. More than 100 companies visit the campus each year offering an average of 25 lakhs per annum. The placement rate is 100% and all students get placements before their final trimester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure comprises tuition fees, IMF funds, Alumni fees, Library, computer and Wi-Fi, insurance and hostel fee, and tuition fee and hostel fees take the largest proportion of fees paid. Loans are easily available for the students of IIFT from all major banks without any collateral. The institute assists in internship and final placements, however, the students can not work part-time to fund their current expenses.
Campus Life
The campus life is good, the only con being that the first-year boys have hostels at a bit far-off locations. The institute has Trade winds, the major management event and there are multiple guest lectures from reputed industry leaders. The library has multiple resources to offer, almost everything that the students can ask for. The lecture halls are wifi enabled, with a projector and microphone for the faculty. Multiple events led by students run on throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities
Final-year students stay on campus, however, the first-year boys stay outside the campus, and the facilities are provided by the institute and the student body is there to represent students in case of issues and feedback.
Admission
The process starts with filling up the application form, which is available until mid-October, and the test is conducted jointly by IIFT and NTA. The application form is available on the IIFT-NTA website having a fee of 2000. After the results are declared, shortlisted candidates are contacted via email and must fill out additional forms comprising basic HR and some business-related questions. The interview is conducted and the list of shortlisted students along with waitlisted students is released. Shortlisted students are required to pay the first tri-sem fee and give consent confirming the seat in the institute. Documents need to be uploaded and verification occurs at the institute. Meanwhile, the student body contacts the junior batch to answer their queries. I feel that the process was rather slow on the administration side, which needs some improvement.
