IIFT a dream into reality

IIFT has got AACSB accreditation by AACSB international due to which it has extraordinary features for international business. Concepts taught by professors helps in attracting HR of top trade companies and ease in placement. IIFT has a ratio of faculty: to students of 1:40 for one trisemester. Faculty have excelled in their domain as they have industry exposure and post-doctorate from prestigious universities. Faculty uses open floor discussion to clear concepts. To make understand concepts in a real scenario, case task is given in groups. Quizzes, mid-term, end term are components. One who is regular in classes and making notes can perform well in exams.

I am going to intern with Microsoft roles offered to me in Product management with a stipend of Rs 1.6 lakh. There are other domains as well like product management, finance, general management, consulting, trade, and operations to explore. Maximum freshers get the opportunity for summer in sales and marketing. Learning in these domains can help in inculcating a cultural and corporate culture.

Apart from the preplacement offer students get a chance for placement from the 5th trimester. Microsoft, Dabur, JP Morgan Chase and Company, Goldman Sachs, and DE Shaw visit the campus. No.200 candidates placed. The highest domestic package offered is Rs. 45 lakhs by Microsoft and the average is Rs. 21 lakhs. Profiles offered are Finance, Sales and Marketing, Consulting, International Business, IT, Analytics, and Trade. After getting my degree I plan to work in a reputed firm of Trade like Cargill, Olam international, Cofico.

Total expenses at IIFT cost around 22.5 lahks for 2 years. It gives a good return on investment considering all other IIMs. Through Nai manzil, and Roshni schemes central government gives scholarship to minorities and the West Bengal government give scholarship to domiciled student. SC and ST pay half the fees. By investing 22.5 Lakh you get a minimum 22 lakh placement. As I am a GEN candidate I have taken an education loan and IIFT reimbursed interest on loans for 2 years. I got a summer internship at the sales and marketing company Microsoft based in Noida with a stipend of 1.6 lahks per month for 2 months.

In October footfall in IIFT is maximum due to the techno-management festival Vivaan. In Vivaan industry experts, faculties, and IIFT alumni share their experiences through open discussion. Books and research papers can be accessed from the library through library cards, and print can be taken. Even in some books faculties authored. Classrooms are large in size, with wood chairs, live projectors, desktops, mics, and speakers. Fitness clubs, yoga, and Olympia committees are there. Socrates, Product Cell, Blash, Equity research cell, Entrepreneur cell, Capital, Bandwagon, Scope, Public policy cell, Renaissance, and Pixcell are the club pages on Instagram being run by students. The fitness club provides 24 hours gym and Olympia organizes section wars on games.

I have given IIFT 2022 exam. Application form have to be filled out online. Application form cost was Rs. 2500. Minimum 3 years Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks required. 5 December 2021 was date of exam. The cutoff for different sections was around 20 %. There was a technical software glitch in some centers where the exam was reconducted which caused a logistic and mental problem for students as they have to give another exam as well. Use of quality user-friendly software to conduct exams and can put mock IIFT exams to avoid such circumstances.
