Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose BBA LLB because I always wanted to be an advocate. I was very clear about it. I chose BBA because I come from a commerce background. I was into management (in the future planning to do MBA maybe). The faculty-to-student ratio is excellent in VIPS, around 1:50. Most of the law professors are ex-DU students as well as ex-DU professors. They teach very well, rather than just theoretical knowledge. Mere plain reading is avoided. The case laws are demonstrated with roleplay and dramas. Also, they are very well-experienced and versed in the concepts. Exams are of two types- internals & externals. Internals are 30 marks usually 2 months after the semester starts and end-term are of 75 marks after 3-4 months of the semester. We only gave online externals so can't say much, but the internals is pretty moderate. With a few hours of study, anyone can pass (around 20).

Placement Experience

3

No idea about the placements yet because the last few years were Covid batches. Some seniors told that the average package is around 4-5 lakhs in law. I would like to pursue either an MBA from one of the top-tier Indian colleges or an MBA, LLM or any other masters from abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is 105400/-annum. It's not at all less or affordable but considering other private institutions. There are various scholarship slabs, like 90% scholarship or 80%, based on the parents' financial conditions & the student's CGPA.

Campus Life

4.5

There are various annual fests like Spandan (BJMC), and Initio (Management); all of the different departments. There are A TON of regular events, fests & stuff but the best fests are around September-November. The law library is one of the best! Other libraries are great too, with a good collection, The classrooms are well-equipped with projectors & AC. Fun fact: VIPS is the only GGSIPU college with AC in every room. There are sports events every year, but the only con of VIPS is not having a dedicated ground for football or cricket. The basketball court is small too. Some societies are: Enactus, ShutterBugs, Spandan, Antarakshar, Mashaal, Aflatoon, 3.14, and TEDx VIPS.

Admission

The course I opted for (BBA LLB), required the marks of the CLAT entrance test. It is the standard law entrance test for the country. Also, a minimum of around 50% in XII was required. The counseling procedure was very easy & it was to be done on the GGSIPU online counseling portal. It is for the entire GGSIPU colleges (15+) for all the courses. The cutoff for my course (law) was decided by CLAT. The portal is very good but the UI could be made better & there are some glitches like there was no option to deselect a course if you mistakenly selected one.

Other Applied Colleges

Himachal Pradesh National Law University - [HPNLU] | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

I didn't want to leave Delhi. If I had opted for Shimla, I would have spent a considerable amount to settle there let alone...Also, Delhi is the capital! The best place to be based in; everything is here including the hon'ble Supreme Court. (pursuing law)

Placement Experience:

Placements cell works for the placements but gets bare minimum or very low profile courses. Students become eligible to apply in third year. I dont have the data because I didn't apply for the placements. Avg package is around 400000 that also in low profile jobs. % of students placed is also very low. My plans after the degree is to either pursue MBA from tier 1 college or continue/start a business/family business as it is best time in india to pick pace

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements
