Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course just because I want an iit tag and a good environment for enhancing my skills. The faculty is good and supportive. always try to motivate you and guide you almost in every field in which you want to explore.

Internships Opportunities

The campus gives many internship opportunities. you should be good in competitive coding to grave a good intern. the internship offered for 3rd-year students. many 2nd year students get off-campus internships. overall many opportunities are there but have to enhance your skills to grave them.

Placement Experience

Campus Placement and internship opportunities are quite good in college. average package around 18-19 lakh. the highest domestic package is about 45 lakhs and the highest international is about 90 lakhs. Around 90 percent of students get placed on campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is about 2 lakh per annum but if you belong to the economically weaker section you got many scholarships and you also got a full or partial fee waiver. on a merit basis, you also get an MCM scholarship in which you got your full tuition fee back.

Many fests are organized throughout the year in which many opportunities and full enjoyment. both types of fests tech and cultural are organized like srijan, and concetto .almost all types of sports are available on the campus and you can compete in inter-IIT sports meet.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are good. Rooms are dual occupancy. food is not so good. you got an ethernet facility in every room with 8-10 MBps internet Speed. mess fee is 30000 per year. Hostels are mandatory. you can't option for day scholar.

Admission

IIT Dhanbad gives admission on JEE Advance ranking If you got a good rank then you have to participate in counseling after that fill out the priority order during counseling. The counseling process is done by josaa. so if you want IIT DHANBAD to give it first priority If you will be selected you will receive an allotment letter thereafter visit the college for reporting and you will get admission. 1st appear in Entrance exam JEE MAINS 2nd qualify for JEE advance. Give the JEE ADVANCE exam. got a good rank than you. 3rd Participate in counseling 4th fill the priority order if required 5th receive an Allotment letter from the college 6th Report in the allotted college 7th Get admission to the college hope this will help

Campus location is good but there is shortage of shops.
Professor are good and supportive and you can keep bike sk questions whenever you needed.

Dislikes

Mess food is not so good and if you taking hostel it is compulsory to take mess
Transpotation facility is not so good and you

Placement Experience:

From third semester students are allowed for internship and about the placement is about 5 to 6 lpa .Many students here are preparing for government exam like gate ,ies isro ,barc etc. And if you are not satisfied by placement from campus you can try off campus.

At the starting phase of college , we have a beautiful campus (which is not ours actually , its on rent ) loacted at Namkum, Ranchi. known as JUT campus, but after that things are not good.
Some what I liked the sports culture, but we don't have any sports Club yet.

Dislikes

Placements(actually there are students who are the coordinators for the placement group , there is no any particular advisor or any TPO head is there earlier...now there is one TPO coordinator but things are becoming worst there.
No grounds for any sports, we don't have badminton court indoors, so we have to wait for wind to settle before we can play outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)

Likes

I like their rules and regulation of college.
I like the annual sports, event, and cultural program.
Regular classes, labs, and time to time internal exams

Dislikes

Thing that I don't like is hostal cleaning, mesh food.
I think there is more rules and regulation for senior boys hostels.
From senior boys hostel they pass some comment to the girls

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is the proper mindset from the class I chose to study btech. The areas for improvement in the course curriculum are more labs to be conducted proper smart classes to be held.

I came to this college as a 2nd year lateral entry student . Its a semi government college . The area of improvement include insfarstructure and more faculty member as it has less faculty member than required .

Likes

the greenery of college campus is very nice
the environment of the college is very good
college library staffs are very well behaved

Dislikes

the faculty is not up to the mark , u will not be satisfied by their teaching
student intake is very very less so you will experience less competition
the college campus is beautiful yet very small

Placement Experience:

yes campus placement is offered . the average package is about 7 to 8 lakhs in C.S.E , the placement rate is about 90% for which above 7.5 CGPA is required . The placement rate for E.C.E and E.E.E are also decent .

Experience of an undergrad

Likes

college have great environment good facilities needed as per requirements ,college also have good spacious hostels and we can say better food comparing to what i heard from friends of different colleges ,the evening time is soothing and relaxing
a great senior junior interaction culture and memorable friendships letting you forget the world outside the campus, every festivals are celebrated with joy and fun ,from leaving a family to moving to another one you would love.
some of lectures are quite boring but some will amaze you with visionary thoughts ,every faculty will guide you if they see you lagging behind the course ,some extra sessions are also conducted, introducing new fields to think out of the box

Dislikes

things which i wish might get some improvements are sports facilities big grounds for sports activities students encouragement towards co-curricular activitiy, co-curricular activities get more support to come out with glorious and imagining skills.
fests do contain fun but due to time constraints before fests planning of amazing activities becomes difficult thus leading same things going on repeating, absence of good team leaders leading activities plays major role in activity failure and bored
night out time is a small problem, the area close to college is developing hence not having nearby much places for fun and chillouts spending your free time relaxing.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is average as during 2023-24 it was recession period all over the colleges are facing placements lags but still college students managed to achieve 22 lakhs+ off campus as well as 16 lakhs on campus placement.The college reached his highest placement of 51 lakh during 2023 ,the average package is 5-6 lakh and the placements percentage are 85 percent for cse students,the students completing 7th semester are eligible for on campus placement drive as well as off campus,some of the prominent companies visited are Microsoft, cognizant, samsung, byjus,infosys and 50 more.I will prepare for gate and after that i will try to get on and off campus placements which i will find better accept the offer.

From 4 semester onwards you are eligible for placement and internship and most of the students Even get the government jobs and psu and some even in public service commission. The college places 97% of its students.

First year experience in IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

I applied to this college through JoSAA process. I gave my 12th board examinations and qualified JEE mains (98.4 percentile) and JEE advanced. I got admission through JEE advanced rank. In JoSAA counselling , I filled various other IITs and NITs. In my rank ( 19181 in jee advanced general category), the best possible option I saw was this college. The fees were also reasonable. The college is closer to my home and has a glorious history in mining for 100 years. I chose this college over others because it is a very prestigious IIT. It is close to my home too. Also I liked the branch I got here. The admission process of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad in B Tech is through JEE advanced examination after which you need to fill JoSAA counselling. For M.Tech you need to qualify GATE examination. The overall admission experience was good. Earlier I was anxious as the whole system seemed a little overwhelming but the process was smooth. My category rank in jee advanced was 1182 so I am getting top IIT like Bombay and delhi but with lower branch and I want to opt branch like cse and ece so I fill the councelling list accordingly and I get IIT ISM Dhanbad. Review of IIT ISM DHANBAD

Firstly my dream is to go to IIT college because of its good placement and very big and beautiful campuses with all facilities. Secondly since my rank is 9k in jee advance . My first priority is circuital branch in first generation IIT so I prefer IIT ism Dhanbad electrical over computer science branch in second or third generation IIT . Secondly since I love physics I want to pursue that type of courses where logically thinking involved. Admission process is easy there is one portal name as jossa where you have registered yourself and then you need to fill the priority of college and branch according to your priority and rank you got college there will be 6 round in that if you don't got good college in first round go for further chances will be high you got good colleges. My suggestion is to consider both branch and college during filling the priority of your college selection since it will impact further during placements.
