SAKEC - Review

MHCET and JEE - Mains scores are accepted to be eligible for BE in Computer Engineering. The admission is through centralized CAP rounds by the University, forms are released after the declaration of MHCET results. Fees per year are around 143000 and scholarships are available which are informed by the college later. TFWS scheme is also applicable to financially underprivileged students, the TFWS option should be selected during form filling only. The admission process is smooth and transparent.

The BE in Computer Engineering course is one of the top-demand courses and people who have an interest in coding can opt for it. The student-to-faculty ratio is decent but the labs can be upgraded and made available. The faculty is qualified most of them are pursuing their Ph.D. or are either done with it. The faculty is helpful when it comes to doubts and lectures. Term examinations are conducted timely with strict monitoring and exams are only on easy to medium level with few hard questions.

Different startup companies like taxpert, connectwise, irobokid, peer connection, Essential AI, etc. do come with internship opportunities with stipends ranging from 5000-25000, different roles like project intern, developer intern, student intern roles are offered and industry skills and tack is put in use.

Students from the 6th semester are eligible for placements, 6th-semester students are first given internship opportunities and then PPO is given. Also, the final-year students give interviews all year. Companies like TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, etc. Many startups are also a part of the on campus hiring. To date 120+ companies have visited, 23.87 lakhs is the highest package offered and the average package is around 6lpa. More than 80% of students get placed every year. I will go for placements after completing my degree.

The fee hike is not a major issue and the cost to study is affordable There are various scholarships provided by the University itself which can be found on the official page of Mumbai University. Financial Assistance schemes like TFWS are present which waives the tuition fee and jobs and internship opportunities are provided on campus. The stipend for an internship ranges from 5k-25k.

The annual fest and all the days are conducted from January to march the fest is named Pratistha. Books and journals are available in the library also the syllabus related to all the books is available. The classrooms are well equipped with smart boards and benches extra curricular activities are done but sports can be conducted more often. There are many social groups, and clubs run by students namely CS - SAKEC, GDSC - SAKEC, SAKEC ALUMNI CELL, E-CELL, ROBO CLUB, STUDENT COUNCIL, and many more.
