Remarks

College is a good one overall. No complaints from my side. Yes, the faculty can be improved and focus on sports should increase but that doesn't compels me to speak a bad word about this college. Come here, and I assure you that you are going to have best time of your life here.

Entrance Preview

Initially I wanted to drop a year and go for coaching . So the only exam which I chose to give was JEE-Mains. I scored 97 marks out of 360. I think this is the best I could have scored as I was not prepared mentally to give the exam. I just wanted to give the exam as a test of my prior knowledge. I got AIR-122264. So going by that, I had applied for Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. Luckily I got admission in it. The reason I chose this college was that my family didn't allow me to go for coaching and take a year drop. Moreover this college had a good repute so I decided to go for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good and well updated according to the latest industry demands. Well, I would like to mention that this is one of the greatest benefits of being in a deemed college. The college can take its own decisions and can change the syllabus and curriculum quickly according to their wish. They don't have to go to higher authorities for this. Well coming to the electives, the students are given a choice for electives from 3rd semester onwards in Humanities Department subjects and from 5the semester onwards in core subjects. The electives cover a wide range of fields and are well in with the latest market demands.

Internships Opportunities

Well college does not provide any internship or training by its own, but there are many companies visiting the campus looking for students who can intern with them. Every year before the start of summer vacations, many companies offer internships to 3rd year students.

Placement Experience

4

This is the sector in which we leave many good colleges behind. The placements in our college has been good even during the worst of market times. Coming to average package and the highest one, the average package is around 3.5 lakhs and the highest package last year offered was 27 lakhs by Amazon. We have many companies visiting our campus from wipro, infosys, TCS, Deloitte, etc. The placements are better in CSE as compared to ECE.

College Events

3.5

College life is good and you will enjoy your time here. We have our annual fest named as "IMPRESSIONS". It is a 2 day fest in which many technical and cultural events are organised. Usually it is scheduled in February. Besides this, we have sports meet every year, dandiya night during navratras, a technical fest, many quizzes and competitions for dance, singing, theater plays, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is a bit on a higher side as compared to colleges from UPTU. The annual fee which I pay is Rs. 2,70,000. This includes Rs. 55,000 academic fee per semester, Rs. 55,000 hostel fee per semester and Rs. 50,000 development fee per year. There is also a security deposit of Rs. 10,000 deposited at the time of joining the institute which is fully refundable. The fee structure is a bit high though.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is one William Webster scholarship being offered to the students from poor back ground and who have given a good academic performance consistently. But personally I do not know anyone who has recieved the scholarship. Educational loans are offered from all the leading banks.

Campus Life

3.5

If you are a male and willing to join the ECE branch, then you are going to miss girls here. The gender ration is very poor in ECE branch, but comparatively good in CSE branch and way higher in Biotech branch. Students come from all over the country but are mostly hailing from Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR. You will miss sports in here. Our college administration doesn't pay much focus on sports. But that doesn't mean that we do not have any sports facilities. We have courts for basketball, volleyball and badminton and a practice pitch for cricket.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel is very good and mess food is just fine. The food is way better as compared to other colleges. The menu has variety and is changed every week. Milk is available both times-during breakfast and dinner. Lunch includes salad and a sweet dish every day. Coming to the hostel, we have separate hostels for boys and girls. There are enough hostel seats and so going for the PG'S is not advisable. Hostel rooms are central air conditioned and are large enough. We have 2-seater rooms. Single rooms are not available.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful. They are going to be your guides for your minor projects, major projects, lab work etc. There is absolutely zero ragging. Campus is ragging free and has strict rules to handle any such behaviour. Coming to the alumni, there is an online platform, where the alumni can register itself, but do not know much about how it works.

Exam Structure

Well if you decide to join this college, then be prepared to always occupy yourself with exams. There is nothing like sessionals or internals here. We have examinations 3 times per semester. Out of total 100 marks per subject, 20 marks are for test-1, 20 marks are for test-2, and 35 marks are for test-3. Rest 25 marks are Teacher's assessment which includes assignments, attendance class participation, etc.

Admission

I had given JEE-Mains. I expected a score of 93-94 in that after the exam. I then decided to apply for Jaypee Institute of Information Technology(JIIT). The institute takes admission only on the basis of All India Rank basis. Generally, for the main campus of JIIT, i.e., Sector-62 campus, the CSE closes around AIR-60,000 and ECE closes around AIR-1,00,000. But hoping for the best, I applied for it. I got an AIR-1,22,264. Luckily, I got the ECE branch in the Sector-128 campus initially, but was later upgraded to sector 62 campus.

Faculty

3

Faculty is average. Nothing too special in this regard. The faculty quality is good enough but definietly we do not have the best teachers in our campus. The student to teacher ratio is good and most of the teachers have done M.tech. There are many who also possess a doctorate degree. Many teachers also have some teaching experience of IIT's.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose BTech because I wanted to explore how real world works with technology and to know the insights of technology. The college mostly provides theoretical knowledge and not the practical knowledge refraining us from more exposure to real world problems. If the course is shifted from theoretical to practical it'll be really helpful. Two exams are conducted per semester, and the difficulty level is moderate.
