Remarks

The admission process was easy, there was no entrance exam admission was merit-based, and the cut-off went low after the first few lists up to 80% for the general category. The college has a Sindhi minority quota for which the cut-off was even low. The site for the admission process works well and gives you the necessary information through mail.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose this course because I had to enter the media industry. The faculty of the college is decent the teachers are well experienced but the department doesn't work well very unorganized. There are end seems and internal tests held before end sems other than that there are SLEs and assignments for which you get marked.

Internships Opportunities

2

Since I am a First year I do not have much info on this but we have been told there are internship opportunities from SY and placements for TY students, we had one of our faculty members give an internship opportunity, especially for freshers which was pretty good.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

You have to pay the annual fee together all at once which I think is not good for many people, I don't know much about financial assistance as I haven't received or inquired about any, there is a placement cell that can help during third-year placements.

Campus Life

1

Here's the problem kc college has two campuses one in Churchgate which is the main campus and the Colaba campus where there are 3-degree courses and other PG courses one of them being BMM. The infrastructure of the main campus is far much better than the Colaba campus, here in Colaba there's almost no campus it's just a building with no good infrastructure and no well-developed computer labs, Kiran is the annual fest of the college, in events and club activities the college is amazing but everything happens mostly on the main campus and the students of Colaba campus have to travel to and fro manage lec and go for event interviews, etc which becomes hectic and annoying, mostly the main campus is inconsiderate of Colaba campus students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

A Mass Media curriculum typically includes core courses like Media Writing, Communication Theory, and Media Production, providing foundational knowledge in the field. Electives such as Broadcast Journalism and Digital Media allow students to specialize. Practical experience through internships and capstone projects gives hands-on skills. The program prepares students for careers in media, journalism, or public relations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to opt for the BMM course because many writers, directors, actors and ad experts and artists have studied in Khalsa College. The curriculum prepares you for real world applications by not only teaching within the portion but also outside the portion. Various recreational activities take place at the college. Areas for improvement would be to decrease the over importance of giving attention to the attendance and project submission. It's college not school the teachers soften a little and try to give students the freedom of exploring other things too. The frequency and timings if the exams are usually the same as ither colleges. There are 6 semesters carried out in three years which are 2 or 3 hours long.

Placement Experience:

Placements for BMM students are practically non-existent. And even for students from other departments, the job profiles that usually come in are for BPOs and in-store sales support. Most packages range from 2LPA to 3.5LPA. This year, there were notable entries like TCS and Ikea but the job profiles were still menial. Although, alumni support is huge and helps most students in job finding.

The College Management Needs to be improved a lot as because of the management and staff students have faced lot of issue We even haven't got any proper IV or farewell and also in terms of management and staff they should understand the mind of students for some ideas and welcome our students perspectives rather than demotivating. But yes overall its a good college and i am sure in some matters they will improve, not all colleges are proper.

In every college there are bad students but majority of the students come from a good family background who come there to study. Sometimes it gets messy because of some students but the good students have not let the college reputation go down.
