Remarks

Certainly not the top engineering colleges.Management is driven by brothers from Church and are not open towards college betterment in terms of teaching, placements, and infrastructure.Go in the college only if you have no better options and are desperate to do engineering from anywhere.

Entrance Preview

I took MHT CET in the year 2010 and scored 105 marks. The reason I chose this college was because it is in my vicinity which is Borivali-west

Course Curriculum Overview

1

Curriculum is decided by the Mumbai University. It is no surprise that the curriculum is outdated and not industry oriented.Pedagogy and Teaching Methods are not upto the mark.Curriculum is highly procedural oriented and lacks innovative approach.Syllabus is very vast and twenty percent gets untouched in every semester.

Internships Opportunities

No internships are provided by the college. However students do certifications during summer and improve their skills.

Placement Experience

1

Placements were really bad with only 20 percent of the students getting placed.Major recruiters were Capgemini, Infosys, L & T etc.Students have to crack aptitude screening and then have to clear interviews. If the aptitude is cleared chances of getting selected in the company are very high provided interview is gone smooth.Job roles were mainly of support and all the companies were from IT domain.

College Events

1

There are two festivals organized, where one is technical fest and other is cultural.Mosaic is a technical festival where students demonstrate their skills in Robotics,Programming etc.Students come from various colleges to participate in the festival.Cultural festival comprises of Garba nig̱ht, rock-show,Prom Night etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is lower as compared to colleges like Thakur, DJ Sanjhvi etc. However its feasibility is questionable due to not so good teaching, trivial pedagogy, below average placements hampering the return on investment.Fees is hiked by 15 percent every year with does not include books, stationery etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

College is not listed under premier institutes to get loans under exception conditions. However standard procedure loans can be availed from all banks.

Campus Life

1.5

Gender ratio is 60 to 40 for male to female. There is a basketball and volleyball court for sport activities.E-cell and Robotics are some of the clubs student can join with social clubs like Angel Clubs etc.Mixed crowd is found here with respect to economic status and sexual orientation.Students are very tolerant in all aspects. Not a cream crowd as such but descent enough to jell with.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

There is no in-campus hostel, however provisions are made in its management college.Out station students can ask the director to accomodate them with its management students.Food can be availed from the college canteen which is average.Very limited menu to choose from and students often rely on food from outside.

Alumni/Alumna

Not so great touch with the alumni. College should conduct lectures from the alumni on periodic intervals to give students industry insights.

Exam Structure

Exams occur at every six months for 8 semesters.First and Last year are examined by the university whereas other semesters are conducted by the college.Exam comprises of Term Work,Practicals,Vivas which are internally/externally managed and written examinations.

Admission

I got admission against the ILS seat by paying donation of 4 lakhs rupees excluding the fees.As this college have Roman Catholic Minority, such candidates availed seat by paying donation of Rs.Sixty Thousand for ILS seat. For normal students there is a centralized admission process through which admission formalities are can be completed.

Faculty

1

Overall Faculty in terms of teaching is below average. They have a serious attitude problems and have no passion for teaching.Conflicts between faculty members affect students in a bad way.To all these, there is an exception Prof. Santosh Chapaneri who really have excellent knowledge about the subject and very sophisticated teaching methods.Regarding qualification most of them have BE degree, some have masters and very few have Doctorate qualification.

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Placement Experience:

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
