Remarks
Eligibility of the course is that it requires a minimum of 60 percent marks from a reputed and recognized board in classes 10 and 12. There may/may not be an exam for BBA but there is GD and PI. Everything related to application and admission is easily accessible on the website and the process is seamless and convenient. An application fee of around Rs.1500-2000 is charged.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose to do this course and it has a very high scope in our country and not many colleges provide this course. Aviation Management gives you a chance to be in the aviation industry without technical education. There is generally a class of 30-50 students per professor depending on the course. The faculty is experienced both theoretically and practically. Their teaching method is based more on the practical aspect, i.e. the industry. Mid-Semester and End-Semester exams are held regularly and regular class tests also take place. One can score well if the preparation is adequate.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies provide internships to students in our course such as the major airlines, Indigo, SpiceJet, Adani Airports, Airport Authority of India, etc. Roles offered are customer service intern, baggage handling intern, grievances intern, etc. There are projects to clarify the tasks such as making unique internship reports for every student, dissertations, presentations of reports, etc.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. A very large number of companies provide students with opportunities and offers. The process is fully automated with the help of 'The SuperSet App which helps students to apply, track and view the placement opportunities. For my course, the highest package is around 8 lakhs annually and the average package stands at 4 lakhs per annum. More than 95 percent of students get placed. After getting the degree, I plan to work for a reputed aviation company and grow my career.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees hike at the rate of 10 percent annually and the overall cost of studying Aviation Management comes at around Rs. 10 lakhs for 3 years. There are various scholarships provided such as merit-based, state domicile, girl child, etc. Financial assistance is provided to students in partnership with a company known as FinancePeer.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest of UPES is called UURJA and is held in November. The annual tech fest, PRODIGY is held in April. The campus has a central library that boasts thousands of books and journals and is fully automated. Classrooms are spacious and have charging ports on every table, projectors, Air-conditioning, and RFID Scanners. The university provides all sports and various extracurricular activities to play and participate in. Multiple Clubs are run by students such as Theatre Club, Marketing Club, Aviation Club-Udaan, Law Club, etc.
Interview Experience
For my course, there were GD and PI. But not an entrance exam. GD topics are related to your course, for eg. Aviation Management topics including the performance and functioning of an airline, etc. In their interview, the panel tests your communication skills and knowledge of the course that you will pursue. I prepared for these by reading aviation news and updates thoroughly.
