Remarks

The cutoffs should be higher so that talented students enter the college and which can attract more companies for placements. Especially the core branches Mech/EEE and ECE as these people strive hard to get placed outside after they complete graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

I chose this course as I am passionate about the Mechanical engineering Course curriculum according to the university syllabus of the very old school, the practicals in the university syllabus are from decades which doesn't really serve a need in the market these days. The syllabus has to be changed in terms of practicals. Old software tools do not provide any weightage in placements. The university should consider using the latest tools so that students will get weightage for their respective domains to attend the interviews. Faculties were not much experienced in my college as they would have only 4-5 years of teaching experience. Moreover some of them were just Bachelor graduates and not Master's or Ph.D. holders. The need for proper satisfaction of the students in terms of Quality education was not provided by the management. Timely exams would be every month tests and every quarter exams

Fees and Financial Aid

As I was a general merit student so I was not provided any opportunity for a scholarship from the government but other people other the GM category used to get timely scholarships. But I think based on the income of our parents even GM category people should also get the scholarships. No financial assistance from the college or from the government was given to me. I was not provided any internship opportunities by my college. Instead, we were told to look for internships outside the college by our own contacts as there was not a mandatory requirement of internship for our degree at the time when I was in college but now they have made it mandatory. I did not get any placements from our college not on the core mechanical side or on the IT side. Most of the students almost 99 percent of the students strived hard to get a job after college. Only some collective students got placed in college too when they attended some off-campus interviews for which the placement coordinator supported them.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest was never a grand one only because the institution never took College donations from students. We used to provide only 4000 rupees extra other than our actual fees. the extra was that too for some genuine reasons. So management would not consider it a grand fest. But departments used to organize departmental fest where students used to contribute the amount. It was good. The fests used to be organized in even semesters. The library was quite good and the books available in the library were very much useful and we were not charged separately for taking the books to our home. We would get ample days of time to keep the books with us but only if the course fee is paid on time. Sports and cocurricular used to be organized but they were not much effective. The main attention was given to sports during university competitions. There is only one group run by students for the students in college and on social media which is the alumni group. There is no other group to be mentioned about.

I would rate five out of five about the curriculum of the giet university because it is more updated in comparison of other universities of odisha. The exams are taken in the gap of one and a half month. There is no need to update the curriculum
