Remarks

Due to the corona pandemic spreading all across the world, we saw problems in the admission process as well. and that's why the admission process didn't involve the college entrance exam. Students were taken in based on JEE percentile core and another alternative as 12th marks. A certain level of percentile in JEE and 12th percentage was set to take in the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I wanted to be enrolled in one of the top colleges in Madhya Pradesh in a core branch which is civil engineering. The faculties are pretty good when it comes to teaching, however since new teachers haven't been taken in by the college, we see visiting faculties from IITs coming to teach us. The faculties are very well qualified and teach with utmost enthusiasm. Term exams were pretty much always timely except if there came some emergency to postpone exams. Also, the difficulty level of exam papers was based on the complexity of the subject. Some were pretty average and others were a bit hard.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

One of the internships we need to do is by AISCE and some might be paid or unpaid internships. Projects help us to look at real-life problems and therefore according to me, projects have pretty good outcomes for your plans. It can spice up your resume for sure.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for placements from the end of the 3rd year or say 6th semester. A lot of named companies like TCS and Nucleus visit the campus for selecting students. However, most of them are bagged in by the students from CS and IT branches and a few by ETC branches. Those in a nontechnical background either have to study for off-campus placements on their own or prep for government exams. I plan to try for off-campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

There has been no fee hike, at least not since I enrolled in the college. The fees are pretty much worth it, seeing the infrastructure and good faculty members. However, the availability of teachers sometimes makes it seem like the fees are not that worth it. For students from less well-off families, various scholarships are provided.

Campus Life

4.5

There are a lot of books in the library while for the journals and research papers, you'd have to take assistance from teachers. Annual fest since the corona times haven't been held yet but it's a well-known fact that IET bags in the title of conducting the biggest cultural fest of central India called "Aakshank". Classrooms have all the basic amenities and the infrastructure is good to go. However, some machines in workshops or practical/field work don't work properly and that poses a bit of inconvenience. There are a lot of social clubs for a student to join like the sports club, gaming club called Phoenix, E-cell, NSS, literary club, drama club named Pratyaksh, etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Wifi, LAN, and 24*7 electricity are ensured in each hostel room. Meal quality is average and on Sundays, you get a special meal (talking about the girls' hostel). The registration process involves some application about how you agree to abide by the rules of being hostile and submission of some documents required. Affordability is simple but it usually fills up pretty quickly.

Placement Experience:

At the end of 2nd year, companies like goldman sachs comes to take interns. For placements students become eligible from 6th or 7th semester. In recent years goldman sachs is the biggest recruiter, oracle and Deloitte have also recruited, other firms like tcs and infosys also come. Giants like Amazon and google have stopped visiting since few years. Last year highest package was 72 lpa to an ece student. Average lies around 8 lpa. In tech branch 70-80% students are placed. In lower branches 50-60% students are placed. My plan is also to get placed at a decent package after completion of course.
