Remarks
College admission is done through internal counseling based on class 12th marks. One can get BSc Biotechnology by getting 60% in intermediate with physics chemistry biology as main subjects. Application form can be found offline as well as online but the online process is very difficult and has too much friction. I opted for offline form and then submitted it offline only. College do provide reservation benifits to SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per government standards. I would love to have this whole processes done completely and property in online mode.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty is quite good and so is the curriculum. The curriculum seems to be industry oriented only. This is true because the branch itself is relatively new to my college and hence a very young and modern curriculum has been implemented here. Teacher student ratio is very good in my branch at least. In some branches like BCom, it is very bad like 200 students to 1 teacher for some subjects but for me, it is a 70:1 ratio. Exams are conducted very sincerely and timely. Questions asked are not always from the syllabus to say but still, it is not very difficult. There are 2-semester exams and 2 mid-semester exams per year, also multiple unit tests are conducted throughout the year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee-wise the college is quite expensive because we pay the highest fee among all general degree courses. Regarding scholarships, there are few scholarships available, but those are only for certain caste categories of students. However one can get external scholarships too as many students I know do avail such scholarships.
Campus Life
Campus life is quite dull as most students are day scholars. Clubs and societies are dormant most of the time. Also, the fact is that the clubs and societies are super tangled in their political tussle. These things create a very toxic environment inside the campus and degrade the college campus life. However, the ray of hope here is the sports complex and college canteen. Always beaming with young blood and a place for relaxing and laughter. The sports complex and canteen are the two single biggest attractions inside the campus keeping the college spirit alive! The library is also quite good and sufficiently furnished. Has almost all the required academic books. In my experience I have never returned empty-handed from the library - I didn't buy a single book, everything that I study is from Library only.
