For this course you have to qualified jee main with 98 percentile for general category.If you are Gen - EWS ,obc,sc,st then you get some preferences in percentile upto 1-2 to Percentile. Applications form on jossa website portal.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose ECE branch because this branch give two options core option or coding option for placement. I can also give gate or ies. Teacher and student ratio is good. Teacher are highly qualified.Two exam per semester one mid sem and end sem.

Class Size: 115Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Microsoft,Morgan Stanley, Qualcomm give internship opportunities. Two types of intern one summer intern and six month internship. 122 student get summer internship and 322 student get six month internship.Some get PPO offers also.

Placement Experience

Campus placement is very nice as compared to all nits.After six semester you will get placement offer.250+ companies visited in 2022. Highest package is 72.50 lpa and average package is 14 .20 lpa .Core placement is very nice.placement record is increasing year by year. overall 97.2% student get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees is 62500, Mess fee is 16000 and institute fees is 30000. There is a scholarship for Economically weaker society whose family income 1-5 lakh.Full remission on tution fee if family income is <1lakh and 2/3 remission on 1-5 lakh.

Campus Life

There is big campus spread across 350 acres. There are 13 hostel . One new academic buildings which is full AC room.Culrav, technica, Kalash are some popular fest event. One big cricket ground name Down's ground .

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is good with one bed , one chair, one table, one cupboard and one tubelight.In 1st year single room per h two head after that in 2nd year you will get single room per head. Two big hostels name Mega hostel and for them a common mess name Annapurna mess which has a capacity for 2500 student at a time.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
