Remarks

Admission through Jossa counselling. candidate must qualified JEE Main with cut off 98 percentile for general to get admission. All admission was done through online mode. I don't avail any reservation. But you can get reservation if you are from gen-ews, Obc, Sc, St. Then you can get admission through lower rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

It is all about my choice. Ece branch has two option either you go for core placement or coding placement. Otherwise you can also give gate or IES exam for PSU job and officer of electronics. Faculty is good but you have to study by your own self study. Because professor don't put effort on teaching. Student and teacher ratio is good. All faculty are highly qualified. There are two exam in semester one mid sem and end sem. You can get excellent mark if you have started your preparation one month before end sem.

Class Size: 115Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are many companies which gives internship like Microsoft , Morgan Stanley etc. Two types of interns summer internship and six months internship. 122 student get summer internship and 322 student get six months internship.

Placement Experience

From 3rd year student become eligible for campus placements. There are 250+ company visited in nit Jamshedpur. 72 lpa is the highest package .Overall Btech placement is 97.2 percent with average package 14 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee is 62500, mess fee is 16000, hostel fee is 16000 and institute fee is 30000. There is scholarship for EWS student whose family income is less than 5 lakh . Up to 1 lakh full remission on tuition fee & 1 - 5 lakh remission will be 2/3 on tuition fee.

Campus Life

Campus is so spacy . There is still so vacant place. Campus spread across 350 acres. There are 13 hostels. Hostels are very nice . There are urja, culrav, technical, Kalash are annual fest .There is cricket ground name Downs ground.

Hostel Facilities

In first year you get Double head per room after that in second year you get single room per head. One bed ,one chair ,one table along with fan & tubelight. There is balcony also in each room. Mess food is normal.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
