Admission is taken through JEE Main Rank. One has to participate in JOSAA counselling to get a seat here. NTA conducts the entrance exam JEE Main for admission into NITs IIITs And other participating institutes. Exam is conducted every year in online mode. Anyone having PCM in their class 12th can sit for the exam. there is certain category wise cutoff marks to pass the exam. Though it is not very relevant and just securing cutoff marks in JEE Main cannot ensure admission into the institute. One has to perform really well in order to get a good to secure a seat.

My course was Electronics and Communication Engineering. The course curriculum is as per other NITs . Though I feel the syllabus is somewhat outdated and not up to the mark as per the IITs or IIITs. The faculty to student Ratio is decent. around ( 1:30). Very few of the Professors are Really Qualified and have their Ph.D. from good universities. Mostly in first year the class is taken by JRFs. Though my experience none of the professor are genuinely interested in teaching the subject. our first and second year exams were in mostly online so it was not that difficult to manage getting some decent marks. There are two major exams in a semester namely Mid semester exams and end semester exams. and 2 class tests taken by the course faculties as per their convenience.

You get a internship opportunities in the college itself. The top companies comes to give internship opportunities to the student s of 2nd and 3rd year. Now more and more tech companies are visiting the campus to provide placement in the tech and non tech sector. the placement in the core branches is topnotch and sometimes even better than some iits.

Placements of NIT Jamshedpur is as per some top NITs . The average package for 2021 batch was 9.38lacs. the top placing branches are CSE and ECE. My plan is to get a decent package here in the tech company.

The fees structure for the academic session 2020-21 was like: 116000 for the first semester for general and OBC students. From second semesters onwards 104000 per semester. If anyone income is below 1 lakh then they get full remission of tuition fees further if income is in between 1lakh-5 lakh then 2/3rd remission of tuition fees.(tuition fee per year is 125000/-).

the annual cultural fest name is Culfest. It is one of the biggest fest of eastern India. they are mostly conducted in the month of march. The campus life is vast . the seniors are amazing ready to help in every matter . they are like the real guardians in the home away from home. There is a new academic building now in the campus fully equipped with the new gadgets smart classes etc. The library is somewhat not good and books are outdated. the annual sports fest is vajra. Sports facilities are decent.

There is a Mega hostel for boys from 2nd 3rd and 4th year. the hostel of nit jsr is the real pride. The meal quality is decent . 4 time meal is provided. Menu includes all the north Indian stuffs. The hostel is provided on yearly basis . for first year hostel is different and it sharing in manner.
