Course and curriculum is not something that the college decides, but then the electives can become a headache. Students were often forced to pick up subjects which were convenient to the faculty or the college. Not that it made a difference to the majority of the students but there were a few who felt disheartened by the fact that were not allowed to learn something they might be interested in.

As we had a industrialist of a chairman, we had the luxury of having a few companies come in even at the worst of times and at least a min of 30% students getting places even in recession. So that's one the best things a student can hope for. Not that it would guarantee a good package, but you just might not leave empty handed.

A lot of technical and cultural fests used to be organised in our day, but the cultural part soon died away as the faculties soon got caught up with the obsession for good numbers and projecting the same as a marker of success to the students who wanted to get enrolled in the coming years. In the same process two beautiful grounds were filled up with concrete buildings to make space for the growing crowd.

I don't have any memory of any such scholarship or loan being provided. Though it would not be a surprise if such a initiative could have been started as our chairman was very supportive and wanted a name for his college, so in order to serve his purpose he would often let the students have their own way.

Competitions and various other cultural activities were a part of the college life, but as I mentioned earlier the cultural part was mostly done away with leaving only the competition behind. Gigyasa was one of the most celebrated event of the year with Robotics at its forefront as one of our most knowledgeable seniors used to lead the same. Not sure if has kept up on those standards.
