Remarks
I took JEE MAINS examination for admission. It cost me 350 INR for the application form and then I went for JOSAA counselling and then CSAB counselling wherein I got this college as per my choice filling. I took jee mains 4 times that which was conducted this year. The cutoff was 71,000 AIR for the course as per 2021 stats in CSAB Counselling in open state quota, General category. The admission procedure seems easy and impartial but one needs to be super vigilant while doing the choice filling. Although, we get two chances for mock choice filling and then actual choice filling once this is done the choices get locked till the sixth round of Josaa counselling. If you are applying for CSAB counselling you will get another chance for choice modification.
Course Curriculum Overview
Honestly speaking this course that I chose was not by choice it's just what I got in the counselling process. The faculty students ratio is average in our college. For the first year, it will be like 1 teacher per 115 students but from next year it becomes branch-specific mostly it used to be 1 teacher for 75 students. But there is no class teacher, there are subject-specific teachers in each class but class teachers are not there. The faculties are well qualified they are all doctorates and the classes take place on digital boards. The term exams take place on time but regular attention in class and a bit more effort will surely help to pass the exam easily. The level of paper seems moderate and is mostly based on what is being taught in the class. So attention in class is necessary.
Placement Experience
Students from the third year become eligible for all on-campus and off-campus placements. Many big tech giants like Amazon, cognizant, Microsoft etc visit our college for placements at top roles in both IT and core branch sectors. The highest package is 60 LPA this year whereas the average package is 7.57lpa. The data as usual emerged as a mass recruiter. From my branch which is MSME, the placement percentage is not that good. In the covid year, it remained just 17 out of 73 student gets placed. The main plan is to go for getting into government sector jobs after the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee burden is there on us here, especially the open category has to pay approx 70k each semester which is too high. Talking about fee hike, so, yes there is a fee hike in our college from 2019 the fee was raised by 7k. There is no fee charged for students from sc/st quota and there is a half fee(27k) for students from the OBC category. The scholarship is available for students from the home state (I.e Madhya Pradesh) and that too is based on the income of the family. The MMVY scholarship provides assistance to students with tuition fees as well as hostel fees. Since I am presently in my first year so I haven't got any on-campus job till now therefore can't write about it.
Campus Life
There is one annual fest that is celebrated here I.e Maffick that takes place from mid-June - to July. But this time due to the visit of the anti-ragging committee, it could not happen. Also, all the fests are banned for this term. Also, seniors are not there so these societies are somewhat inoperable. Talking About the library there is a central library. Also, there is an air-conditioned digital library. Books are in plenty. The classroom is well furnished but there is the problem of water out there. The water coolers are not clean. The sports activities for first-year are restricted at the sports complex but in the absence of seniors, it is not the case. There are many societies in the college that are run by students and their websites are maintained by them only.
Hostel Facilities
The newly made girls' hostel, The Nivedita Bhawan is very nice and beautiful but the size of the rooms is small. We are provided with one cupboard, a table, a chair and a bed. All the rooms out here are double seater with a fan and two tube lights. The food quality is not good, It is preferable if u take outside mess facilities in the hostel but they don't allow it so the fight is still continued for a better quality of food in mess and changed the mess menu. They charged us 16,000 rupees for just 3 months which is exorbitantly high as compared to its quality. If someone looks for pg outside manit so best is to take it nearby I.e Vaishali Nagar.
