Remarks

The institute funded by DST and other sources is run a clean form. The administration is but slow in cases of funding and meeting our small problems.

Entrance Preview

The exams that i took last year are 1 IIT JEE (221/504) AIR - 3315 Obc : 515, Jee mais 215/360, Air 3305 Obc: 505 2 CUSAT CAT AIR - 109 OBC 8 3 Kerala CEE (engg) rank -159 OBC 74 4>NEST rank -54. I chose this course over other courses because i had interest in going for basic science research than an engineering B Tech course. Also for any student wishing to persue pure science career this institute is the best in INDIA.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The Course curriculum for the first 3 semesters include single courses in maths, physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. As engineering course for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd semester we have Computer Science, Electronics and materials engineering respectively. The course work is pretty rigorous as it is based on the foundations on each of the subject.

Internships Opportunities

The internship here are not with companies as the course is related to Reserch in basic science. The Institue offers paid internship in top colleges of the world( generally in US, UK,Germany and Netherlands) during the summer after 3rd year of the course to academically well performing students (about 35 studets out of 110).

Placement Experience

4

Most of the students graduated here are not interested in top paid jobs but are continuing reserch as PhD fellos of top collges of world like MIT, CalTech, Harward and Cambridge. Also this year 3 Gate/Net rank 1 were from this Couse.( many more under 10 too). But if u are intersted in jos you are not to be disturbed.

College Events

4.5

The exams are not conducted by the unversity but is under the control of each of the proffesor. If the proffeson is nice and cool we dont have exams but if he is rude we may hav. Some of the proffesor last sem had only 2 exams (1 mid sem exam,1 end sem exam)

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a follows 13,000/- per year tution fee 3500-4000 mess bill per month 200-400 rs hostel rent per month. Total of about 61,000. (remember we gets atleast 4000 PM as stipend +20,000 an year as contingency fund 64,000 an year). No other fee such as laboratory expence and all.

Fees and Financial Aid

Most of the stdents here are KVPY scholers who recive 5000 per month as stipennd most of the others have inspire scholership of 5000 per month. For all those who have no KVPY or Inspire scholership institute provides a scholarship of 4000 per month.

Campus Life

4

The campus life here is a life to enjoy, study and celibrate. 80% of the people here are either Mtech, PhD or Post Doctoral fellows so we are like small children for them. Basic science clubs here are very active. Also each day there will be seminars and colleges offered by various departments of the institute to which we can attend if we have interst NO CASTISM, NO RACISM. NO GENDER INEQUALITY women works in labs till late night as like men the hav no problem to rome in the campus at any late night hour security guard are vigilant 24*7 at all crossroads.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facilities that we get depends on our luck as to which hostel we are allotted. There 6 mens hostel and 4 womens hostel Of them 4 of the mens hostel have tiled floor and bathrooms, good facilities and all but 2 remaining are a bit old but far better comparedd with normal govt. hostels. All except one womens hostel are good.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes we have an allumini network. The seniors ocationally visits us. Generally a lot of the alluminus from here are the notches of reserch collaboration with companies.

Faculty

5

The faculties here are the best that one can imagine in the country. All of them are Post Dotorals from the top notch istitutions round the globe. Some of them are "Padmasree" holders, Some members of Royal Society, and even the lab handlers are PhDs. They introduce to us the fundamentals of the subject. The biology and Chemistry professors after the basic teaching of the coursework are always interested in introdusing us to the present reserch works going round the globe.

Placement Experience:

There is no such thing as placements for now (in 1st year here) but in our second year, we have placement support here. We have compulsory internship at our Second year. We only have 2 batches, 1st Year and 2nd Year. But for now, among our seniors 60% of them hold internships and others are either building something or scaling their skills. For now, we don't have any placement records but according to scaler academy, it will be aroung 24 Lakhs.

Overall it is a nice institute to learn everything about fashion & design. But there are a lot of rules and restrictions as it is an army college and it need to maintain the discipline. It has very compact sized population in the campus which makes the campus life a little boring.
