Remarks

The admission process is usually very smooth for the colleges taking admission through JOSAA and so is the case with NIT JAMSHEDPUR. Concerned about the eligibility of the course, the candidate will have to give JEE mains to get admission in this one of the prestigious institute. The different branches have different criterias/rank boundations to get into. After giving JEE mains, the candidate will have to register themselves on JOSAA website for furthur admissoin processes usually occuring in 5-6 rounds every year. I personally don't feel that there is any need of improvement as far as admission process is concerned. It is quite user friendly, so why should we make it more complicated.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because i was more interested in this field, I have a keen interest to know how the big factories and machinieries are operated and handeled. The faculty:student ratio is decent at NIT JAMSHEDPUR. In our branch we have 6 subjects and there are enough faculties to handle the students in their branches. As per my knowledge all the faculties have done PhD, M.Tech from very reputed institutes of India as well as from abroad. We just had our mid semester examinations and it is taken timely by the academic department of this institute. The student who studies well during their academic session would not find it difficult at all to pass in the exams.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We all are aware of this fact that these days, mostly the computer programmers get the internships. Many companies offer internship to the graduating students. It would be more suitable to visit the instiute website for the other details.

Placement Experience

4.5

In the third year, the students start getting the paid internships. The second reason for me joining this college is its fascinating placement percentage. Many tech giants visits our college like amazon deloitte, tata power, bajaj etc. The highest pachage this year was around 57 Lakhs per annum and the average package of the college is around 9.5 L.P.A. The placement percentage is around 90% cumulatively.

Fees and Financial Aid

Approximately, there is 10% hike in the fees every year but this college never lags back in giving scholarship to the desired students. Well, the reservation offered from the Government of India also gives a decent scholarship for the OBC/SC/ST/EWS categories: with income less than 1 lakhs per annum gets 100% tuition fees waiver, with less than 5 Lakhs per annum will get 2/3 waived in the tuition fees. We have many more scholarchips offered by our college based on the academic performance of the student The name of sifferent scholarships may be noted down as follows: 1.Foundation of academic excellence and access. 2.Special scholarship scheme for Jammu and kashmir students. 3. National Handicapped finance and developement cooperation. 4. NTPC scholarship for engineering students. 5. Indian Oil educational scholarship scheme. 6. CDIF scholarship program TATA CUMMINS 7. Merit Cum Means Scholarship. 8. O.P Jindal Engineernig and Management Scholarships. and many more.

Campus Life

4.5

In the name of fests also, this institute never leave any stones unturned. We have Ojass, Culfest, Technica, Cognitio, Vidhaan and many more fests anually. We have a very well equipped classrooms with modern ammenities. The diamiond jubilee lecture hall complex with smart class equipped with world class sound systems, displays, projectors, podiums etc. The library offers many books and journals sufficeint enough for the overall developement of an individual. The sports culture is also decent at this institute, we have almost all the grounds and decicated courts for every outdoor sports. PCON is the programming club which is run by our seniors which facilitates the students to learn computer languages for many future opportunities in the tech fields as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

For the first year freshies, we have double occupancy rooms. But from the second year onwards the institute offers the mega hostels with single occupancy. The mega hostels gives a quality living to the students. The meal menu has different valietes in it ranging from south to north indian and from vegetarian to non vegetarian food. The insitute has a mandatory live in campus rule for the first year student. I think that the mess and hostel charges are affordable for students from middle class.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.
