Remarks
Ever since i saw the infrastructure of IIT Roorkee, i knew i will be studying here one day. The entrance of the campus main building is amazing. The admission fee for the course was Rs. 5000 and the registration fee was Rs. 600. I submitted my application form online along with the score card for JEE Advanced. I also appeared for AAT exam under JEE to clear the eligibility criteria for the course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is curated by some of the well known experts and scholars of IIT. In those five years, i learnt a lot of things. I acquired skills including paper sketching, visual drawing and the techniques used in visual drawing. Class size was kept to a minimal since practical subjects were also taught in the class. Qualification of the faculty members was very advanced and they all had a good amount of experience.
Placement Experience
A total of 406 job offers were received by the students in my batch. Highest CTC of the year went to Rs. 69.5 LPA. A total of 265 recruiters visited the campus including Alphonso, Amazon, Analog Devices, AppDynamics India Pvt. Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd., Codenation, Cohesity, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Intel Technology Pvt. Ltd., Jaguar Land Rover, JPMorgan Chase & Co.. I prepared for the placements from the start and thus landed in a great company.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are three scholarships offered by the institute for the deserving candidates - Merit scholarship, James Thomason scholarship, SC/ST/PH scholarship and Inspire SHE scheme. Rs. 8.47 lakhs is the entire cost to study B.Arch. here at IIT. This amount is very high for the students who come from weak financial backgrounds. Full tuition fee waiver is provided to the students belonging to the category.
Campus Life
Science Day on Feb 28 is the main eye catcher of the institute every year. Luckily, i got the opportunity to enjoy my campus life before the pandemic hit. In social terms , i made a lot a new friends attending the events and participating in the workshops, competitions. After the lectures, we used to hang out in the gardens and the canteens. Hostel nights involved a lot of fun and enjoyment.
