Remarks

Eligibility for BTech is minimum 70% is 12th board exams. Application form and details regarding dates was available on college official website. Admission process is online. And admission is done on the basis of 12th results. Jee rank is also preferred for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have choosen this course because computer science engineering is very good field. Faculty of college is very good and supportive and gives all the information of events and fests of the college. Teachers are PhD graduates and way of teaching is very good enough. Mid Term exams are held b/w 2 months of gap. And difficulty level of exam is good and students score 80% in those exams very easily.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Companies like Samsung ,TCS , Tata , Coding Ninjas , Infosys , IBM are the ones who offers a good package . And roles offered by them are HR recruiter , Coder , Manager etc. They provide you a project and you have to complete that project in the given time period on the basis of that project they check your strength and weakness.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for placements after completing their 6th semester and after that they can apply for a campus placement. Companies that visits to the campus are Cogni , TCS , Samsung , Tata etc and average package offered by them is around 3-4 lacs per Annum. In CSE department around 95% students got placed in the campus. And I also want to be placed in Samsung company in around 5lacs .

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees Structure of Btech is 50000 approx and students will be notified about the fees on their official website. And scholarship are also offered to SC/ST and OBC students. Packages offered on the stipend is also good like 10-15k per month.

Campus Life

4.5

Tech Fest and cultural fest in which SKIT , Dance , music , and many more events are organised. There is a central library in the college campus where all the books of all departments either of masters or bachelols are available. There is a sports complex and gym as well in the campus where we can access to the sports stuff as well . There are more than 8 societies in our college campus and most famous ones are ISTE, CML, ECELL, CSI etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
