Bits Pilani, Its Magic!

The admission is taken via Bitsat exam. It has 4 sections, maths, physics, chemistry and english and logical reasoning. Application form can be found on bitsat website and has to be filled in the time frame provided. So one has to keep checking whenever the application forms commmence. Anyone having passed 10+2 with 75% marks is eligible to give the exam. Application fees is not much, costs around 1000 for a general candidate.

The course is well structured and faculty is very decent. Bits has one of the most prominent faculties in whole country. The main reason to choose the college is of course the name tag and the opportunities that the college provides. Every department has more than 20 faculties and almost all are available at all times and are quite friendly. Everyone has P.hD. in their respective fields. The level of education is high and exams are competitive as almost most of the things are based on cgpa in bits.

After end of second year, there is a thing called practice school 1. Its timeline is summer vacations after second year. Its the first intern that every student of college do and gets familiar with professional work culture. Then in last semester there is practice school 2 which is of 6 months and students work with big companies and get trained. In summers of 3rd year, people also have opportunity to get sunmer intern. ( Whose interviews occurs in previous sem)

Students at bits are placed very well. Last year there was 100% placement which is a hige record. There are various ways of getting placed. There are in campus summer intern opportunities from which students get directly placed. There are also practice schools for 6 months in last semester of college through which also students get placed. Ahead of these two, there are also placement season throughout complete last year and almost all big companies come and hire students.

Fees structure is around 2 lakh per semester. It is quite high but the opportunities the college provides says for it all. Scholarships are available. Top 20 students get free education, all fees get refunded. People having annual salary of household less than 11 lakhs get 40% refund on tution fees each sem and people having less than 40% annual salary with cgpa greater than 9 gets 80% refund on tution fees. Also, people can earn by becoming teaching assistant of the courses in which they have scored well.

The campus is quite big and located in Goa which is most exciting part. There are lots and lots of clubs and department and basically anyone having any interest will find a group of people having same interests. All clubs and department are open for people Willing to contribute. Cultural fest happens in November and is called Waves, tech fest is Quark and it happens something like in February. The classrooms are big and air conditioned. Library is full centralised ac and has almost all books available which can be issued.

Everyone has been alloted an hostel. There are 3 sides. A, C and D. C side has girls hostels, D side has double occupancy hostels for 1st year students while A side has single occupancy hostels for rest of year students. There are common room in hostels which bas tv, chess board and carrom. Registration process is quite simple, when we arrive at the campus, just on ground floor of hostel, it is done and quite simple.
