IHM CHENNAI Review

I got admission to the college through exam NCHM-JEE conducted by NTA. Students should have qualified 10th and 12th with a minimum of 45 percentage. The application form can be filled out on the NCHM official site.

I choose this course because I want to be a hotelier. The faculty student ratio in our college is 25:1. All the faculties in our college have a great experience in the hotels and cruises. Their teaching is very informative and elaborated. There will be midterm exams and then semester exams. Exams are moderate and not very tough to pass out.

An internship of four month is integral in this course. In the second year, the students are sent for internships in different hotels like Leela, Taj, The Oberoi, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriot, IHG groups etc. After four months of internship, students have to give exam and submit the project related to the internship.

From the 5th semester of college, the companies start to visit the college for campus placements. Many hotels brands like ITC, Taj, Oberoi, Hilton, Hyatt etc come for the placement. The highest package offered is 400000 per annum and many management trainees are selected by the hotels Average package offered is 2,40,000.

The fees per year is around 120000. Scholarships are available for different categories of students but not for all. We have to go for a 4 month internship and the stipend a student gets is around 3000 per month. Many hotels like Taj ,ITC, Oberoi etc come in our college for placements

Many festivals and events are organised and celebrated in the college. The food festival is also celebrated each year. You can easily get any book which you want to read in the library related to the course. There is a playing area with a basketball court to play sports. Both boys and girls hotel is there in the campus. Rooms are spacious and good . Quality of food provided in the mess is also good both North and South Indian food is served on different days. Each and every first year student can get the hostel with a charge of 30000 per semester. The locality is known as kamagam
