Remarks

College education has to improve a lot in terms of providing practical exposure instead of focusing on books.

Entrance Preview

I did not write any entrance exam selection to the course was based on +2 Marks and of course quota. I opted for this college because it was quite famous and had a good reputation of good students joining there i have also had heard of good teaching staff there.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum was aligned to Madras University and it was average it did not match to any of the professional course like CA, CWA. It was bit basic and one could easily clear it fi they are average. This is the reason people opt for more professional courses in addition to Graduation, as these days just graduating does offer you any scope for getting a job.

Internships Opportunities

I did not go through any internship in college, may be I am too old to write this review now haha any ways I did my CA article ship and the stipend was too low as Rs 300 per month those days in 1998 which is still by any standards.

Placement Experience

2.5

There was no placements offered those days, we had to continue with other professional courses for us to be even considered for any jobs.

College Events

2.5

College cultural events were more fun to have and those days there were not many technical events. Culturals does bring out lot of talent in college people and provides more confidence to face the public or remove any kind of stage fears. It was a good team efforts among students and creates a lot of bonding.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Evening college fee structure is quite expensive 3 times as that of day college. I think they can make the evening college more reasonable even though it is funded by the management. Also quota system makes it cheaper for some of them and the fairness of it is highly debatable at a national level.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any scholarship but there were some scholarship offered to some of the good students. It was very helpful but I can not remember the names of those as its been very long.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was good and it was lot of fun we never had great ambitions to be honest those days but still we enjoyed what we did, of course we studied well and most of them were good in academics, that is because only students with good marks would get admission to this college.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I did not stay in the hostel so I can not comment. It is absurd that you still want me to write 100 characters for this haha. I don't think I heard any bad or good comments about the hostel as none of my friends stayed there.

Alumni/Alumna

I am not part of any alumni in this college but we do have personal contacts through facebook and whatsapp groups we do meet sometime and cherish those college days, it is always good to think those days, discuss and have fun.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is again aligned to madras university and the university exams were fairly easy provided you also go through some of the professional courses. The same kind of syllabus is covered anyways.

Faculty

3

I was in the evening college and I understand faculty in the day college which was funded by the Govt had better staff. Staff funded by management was average and some of them were literally reading from the books. Only few of them were practical and these days faculty should start teaching what is not there in the book as any one can read the text book and understand especially the theoretical ones.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect will be accounting that made me choose this couse. The curriculum made me to prepare for future accounting field works and knowledge around the field. The improvements that I suggest may is to add more relevent real life job experience in subject books itself. As per me who is one of a topper student in my college, The difficulty is moderate to me and timing of exams are more enough to fill all the questions.

Placement Experience:

In MCC there is placement but it's not 100% placement, only 10 to 20 from a class of 60 gets placed, so when it comes to placement it's upto to you and your skills. Normaly the placement enrollment starts at beginning of your 5th semester or end of your fourth semester, you can opt for placement or higher study. The highest package was from Standard Chartered & Deloitte it was 6 Lakhs CTC. Accenture, TCS and some well known companies will participate in placement drive. The average package will be Rs.3.5 Lakhs CTS. I'm planning to go for higher studies while doing a part time job after getting degree.
