Entrance Preview

I had given CET exam and got marks and got the call for counselling. According to my score, I had got the list of colleges in which I had to select in which my college was also ther. One of my school mate had already taken the admission to this college, so opted for it as I was not aware of other colleges in the list.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum of B.Tech wa mostly similar to other colleges. Here, engineering programs start with general courses in sciences and engineering and then migrate to specialized courses for the disciplines. These courses are indeed foundational for many engineering disciplines. Last semester is an industrial training program which is very good from training and industrial exposure perspective.

Internships Opportunities

Many companies including Blue beacon, IBM, HCL came. Initial stipend offered was in range 10000-20000 INR. Few were offering training with job assistance and few were offering jobs after course completion. For college intership, mostly students has done on their own where stipend was not offered.

Placement Experience

3

Not many companies visited at that time, so not more students were placed. College has arranged the job fair in the college but mostly, companies were not domain specific.

College Events

3

During my tenure, my college has organizers 2 inter college fests where number of colleges participated in different events like singing, dancing, debate among others. All these events were great success in their own time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At my time, fees was 33000-35000 INR per semester which was high in its time. But now, it might have increased as per the current fee structure of colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships wre really given by the university to the university toppers. It was not given at college level.

Campus Life

3

There were around 3/7 girls to boys ratio. College fests were organised at very good level and took part in many competitions including singing, debate, anchoring. There were many people across states and interacted with them. Got to learn cultures of different states. Labs had enough equipments and even attended many workshops which was part of our semester.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel rooms were sharing rooms. Around 2-3 girls were sharing rooms according to room size. Facilities were good acc to its fees which was 3300 INR per month. It includes food and room cleaning. Food was average. There was a food chart acc to which food was prepared.

Alumni/Alumna

Not that much interacted with seniors. Only in the beginning, we have interacted when the college fresher's party was organised. Now, no contact with seniors.

Exam Structure

Exam structure includes 3 seasonal and one final university exam per semester. This also includes practical test with their experiment and viva and all these marks were constitute internal marks which were also included in the final result.

Faculty

3

Faculty includes some very good professors who were very skilled in their specialized area but few were average. Overall it was good and very helpful.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
