Entrance Preview
The examination for IPU is CET ( Common Entrance Test). The paper was lengthy and it included all the sections from verbal, maths, analysis and gk i was ranked in the 900's and I chose this college because of its reputation in and around North India for BBA and BCA.
Course Curriculum Overview
The system uses a credit based system and although there aren't many optional or add on subjects, but still the course is fairly varied as we have subjects like personality development, information technology, financial accounting, marketing, economics and organisational behavior.
Internships Opportunities
A 2 months (8 weeks) internship is mandatory in the college during the 3rd and a detailed report about the internship and all the things your learnt and did has to be submitted for external examination. Generally, the average stipend offered to BBA students is between 5-15k depending upon the nature of the internship.
Placement Experience
Students regularly participate in the Campus Drives or appear for the Joint Campus Drives at Neutral Venues. Students are given a chance to attend the Pre-Placement Talk with the Company Officials beforehand so that they can understand the profiles being offered better and clarify their doubts. The leading companies are approached from all the sectors where eligible students are facilitated to go through the entire selection process.
College Events
There are 2 fests organised in the college one is by the B.Tech branch and it is called Avensis. Avensis is one hell of a fest for people who are interested in events like console and pc gaming and robo wars. The other fest is okayish with more emphasis being put on quizzing and events like treasure hunt etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is a bit on the expensive side when you compare it with DU. Around 70k per annum for the general college infrastructure offered is a bit high but it is worth it because of the professional nature of the course which means that there is a good chance of placement later on.
Fees and Financial Aid
The University offers scholarships to students who have secured the ranks 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the common entrance test. Other than that there are options which have to be discussed in the administration block for students under various quotas.
Campus Life
The campus life is not like what you'd expect in a college. It is rather dead and students prefer going out of the college to have fun. The computer labs are modern and with ACs. There is a decent library with a lot of reference books the college has a field for football and cricket and a volleyball court too. There are quizzing, debating and commerce societies as well.
Hostel Facilities
The college has both boys and girls hostel the rooms are decent but without A/Cs which is troublesome during the summers. There are good sports facilities and the food in the hostel is okay too there are a lot of PG's available around the college and a small market too with a lot of eating joints.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students are doing well and they sometimes visit the college to meet the professors. They are also very helpful and can help during the recruitment process through recommendations.
Exam Structure
There are 2 internals in each semester and one external exam. The internal exams make up 25 marks, in which 20 marks are for the performance in class tests and 5 for discipline external exam is for 75 marks and is usually very lengthy. Quantity matters in the external exams and the exams are held in different colleges.
Faculty
The college faculty is VERY DEDICATED they are very regular and they 95% of the times ensure that their lectures are productive and are very strict when it comes to finishing the course and all the doubts and stuff even outside the class they are very friendly and helpful.
