Remarks

I always desired a cosmopolitan environment for my Post Grad and since I could not afford to go abroad I chose Sharda for the international exposure it offers. Some of my seniors at school went to Sharda as well and highly recommended it. I was told that it is one of the best private institutes and it really did live up to its reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Provision of very niche specializations with regard to the MBA degree is one of the most attractive features of Sharda. The faculty is world class and there are guest lectures from established names in the corporate world from time to time.Due to its exchange programs there is constant new outlook on the management standards. Sharda has a considerable number of faculty present which ensures an excellent student teacher ratio. For a student to have full gain, they have to reach out themselves to the faculty for guidance over jobs, internships, projects, research etc.

Internships Opportunities

5

The college does not really offer support with Internships, though as part of MBA curriculum Internships are encouraged. I managed to find an internship with Sociowash in the marketing division which really helped me excel at the subject and gain industrial knowledge. My teachers were most encouraging about my doing the internship.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are decent and merit based. Highest package went up to 30 lacs, it was offered but no one in my batch including me qualified. Over 150 companies visit Sharda for placements every year out of whcih 30 are among the Fortune 500 companies. At 90% Placement Rate, Sharda makes sure that most of the students actually seeking jobs are placed. Some of the companies coming in for jobs are Amazon, Audi, Asianpaints, American Express, CitiBank, ITC, Pepsi, Yes Bank etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure seems hefty but trust me it is more affordable than most Tier 1 institutes. Sharda University does extend scholarships to meritorious students, anything more than 75 percent in graduation, CAT/MAT/XAT will get you a scholarship.I availed a 20%scholarship on the total fees based on my CAT scores.

Campus Life

3.5

Chorus is one of the most vibrant fests hosted by the college. It is quite popular and multiple colleges attend. There is also an Autumn Fest where cultural events are performed and promoted. All in all the campus is always happening.Sharda also boasts of focus on entrepreneurship, under Sharda launchpad, students are encouraged to come up with independent start-up ideas which are then mentored entirely by the university. One of my classmates actually pitched for a beauty-lifestyle chain and got a very encouraging response.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facility is quite satisfactory, though not exactly to its full value in terms of the high fees. There are flats and paying guest accommodations available around the campus but for someone focused on academic growth, the hostel provides an ideal environment.

Admission

SUAT is a common entrance test for Sharda, for which I did not have to appear as I already had my CAT scores for consideration. The college also considers XAT/MAT scores. Post the score review students are further called for GD and then PI. All the rounds are elimination based and only after qualifying the final Interview round is admission counseling provided.

Placement Experience:

Placement cell does provide opportunities for getting placed in many organisations, however the primary focus is on just getting students placed regardless of organisation's reputation and the job profile. The placement process begins from 7th semester. MNCs don't approach this college for the course, which a very big backlash. Highest package offered was 4.2 LPA and average package was somewhere around 2-3 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course structure is good of btech but there there is only thing I don't like is that in btech course the subjects in first year are not related to career of students because there is physics, chemistry other irrelevant subjects present in first year but in second year the course become interesting and relevant. Curriculum is good and prepare well for real world applications. The exams comes frequently every month there is a class test but class tests are moderate on the basis of there difficulty level.

My plan is to develop my skills and attain a good job or go for higher studies after degree.
