Student's Review On KLS Gogte Institute Of Technology - [KLS GIT], Belgaum

Good placement for other core branches (other than CS). Having established more than 50 years and comes under top 20 college under VTU then. I wanted Mechanical and with my score and rank either GOGTE and SDM was known best for mechanical.

Syllabus was old. Few odds things were there pertaining to syllabus like to score good you didn't have to learn whole syllabus. Faculties were good, but obviously not all. Syllabus was not meant to go for GATE and higher studies examination. Focus was more on scoring high and getting placed.

Had an internship at Heavy Engineering Corporation (H.E.C) RANCHI, established in 1954. There was no stipend, instead they charge for internship on the basis of duration of training. Application duly signed by placement cell/principal needs to be submitted for internship.

Fantastic for CS IT and EC students, though average is low. Alumni referral wasn't there. There was an alumni cell but not accessed by other students. Placement officer use to control alumni cell. Though belgaum is full of small scale industries so there are many entrepreneurs.

Lots of technical, cultural events happens throughout the year but the main attraction was sports event. If you good in sports, you get a good back up from the college. Most of the events were on national level.

Not for outsiders. For karnataka peoples, tuition fees was nearly 33% and if you belong from SC ST your fees is almost 0. For general caste students and for those who are not from karnataka, there is no scholarship/reward even if you top your college exam.

Compare to either colleges in the vicinity, will rate 8/10. Though construction was still going on. Labs were sufficiently equipped to hone your knowledge, but for only to those who seeks. Other infrastructure like library gym etc are available.

Haven't opted for hostel as being east Indian it would have been a difficult time for me to devor south indian food on daily basis. Have opted for PG costing 2000 per head. 2 people reside in 1 room. Messes were available nearby serving all kinds of foods.
