Remarks

Due to covid, the admission process was through JEE & 12th score. Otherwise, VITEEE is the entrance test. For VITEEE the difficulty level is the same as JEE MAINS. NCERT with the previous year's question paper is enough to crack the exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was inclined towards business & startups with computer science technologies. The faculty-student ratio is mostly 1:60 for core subjects & can be a little more for electives. Most of the teachers have degrees like Ph.D. and higher. Term exams are of medioker level, you can score well if you are active in classes.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 161000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities will be provided in the 4th year, though you can grab internships being part of clubs like HumanoidX, that club members alone got 9 paid internship opportunities at IISc Banglore through a ROBOTICS company.

Placement Experience

As this is only the second cohort of this course the first placement of this course still needs to happen in 2023-24. From Microsoft, Adobe to JPMorgan many big fat companies take part in the recruitment drive. 100 % placements, thats what VIT says. My plan is to pursue a startup after acquiring the skillsets from the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee hike is rare. For the past two years, it's almost same. If you are a hosteller yu can expect the cost of study as 4 lakh per year. Lot of scholorships opportunity are their, they send regular mails where we can apply directly.

Campus Life

As of online itself faculty and staff are supporting, fests are grand ( RIVERA ) . Big library with books of every domain you can think of. College are reopening soon too. There are 96 clubs in VIT Chennai excluding the student communities like Vitrendz. Vitrendz is the most popular student community of VIT.

this is where they lie the most , they claim to have placement records of 97% but in reality its just 10%. because of huge student crowd , placing everyone is one big task. the company that comes here for hiring are mostly startups and some lesser known company . branches like mechanical and EEE have it even more difficult time to get placement.the highest package of over college is of 16 lakhs .

My experience In VIT Chennai!

Placement Experience:

At VIT Chennai, students become eligible for campus placements starting from their 6th semester, with placement training beginning in the 5th semester. Top companies or recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, PayPal, Bosch, Accenture, and Intel, among others. In 2023, over 900 companies participated across VIT campuses, making more than 12,000 offers. The highest package offered was ?1.02 crore per annum by a global recruiter, while the average package for core placements ranged between ?6-7 LPA, with Super Dream offers exceeding ?25 LPA and Dream offers ranging from ?10-15 LPA. Around 90% of eligible students get placed, with profiles offered in software development, consulting, analytics, and core engineering. After completing the degree, students often pursue roles in top companies, higher studies, or entrepreneurial ventures.
