Remarks

Admission is based on the candidate's rank in Mody University's engineering entrance test/JEE Mains/any state level engineering entrance test. The details about the application form, application fees and application dates are mentioned on the website.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because Electronics and Communication engineering enables an individual to innovate, design and develop products and equipment that can be taken into use by multiple disciplines. The college has an excellent faculty-to-student ratio, which ranges from 60:1 to 15:1. The college is quite disciplined, and thus, term exams were always timely. A routine comprising regular studying each day makes the exams easy to pass. Having pursued their doctorates and masters from prestigious institutes, the faculty is highly efficient and well-experienced.

Internships Opportunities

3

The college sends students for summer internships and even international internships, such as CERN, Geneva; University of Missouri, USA, Florida International University, USA; and Universite de Nantes (France) to name a few.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students become eligible for placements from their 5th semester. Companies such as Capgemini, Amazon, Accenture, Oracle, TCS, Infosys, IBM, John Deere visit the campus. On average, each student has at least one job offer, and 50% of students receive 2 to 5 job offers. The highest package is mostly around 20 LPA and the average package is around 4.5 LPA. My plans after getting the degree are to pursue MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is approximately INR 250000/yr. If one chooses to live in on-campus hotels, then it would cost an additional INR 200000/yr (for a double seater room) approximately. However, if one opts for off-campus hostels, then the hostel charges may vary from as low as INR 40000/yr (for a triple seater) to as moderate as INR 80000/yr (for a single-seater). There are various criteria to avail scholarship. For instance, Toppers of any state board or central board can get a 100% waiver for a full term. A candidate scoring more than 95%, in PCM or PCB in class 12, or JEE Mains rank of up to 150000, or NEET rank up to 50000, or MEET rank up to 50 can get a 70% waiver for a full term. As the PCM or PCB score, JEE Mains rank, NEET rank, or MEET rank decreases, the percentage of waiver also decreases. Besides, if more than one sibling is studying at Mody University or Mody school, then there is a provision of a 10% tuition fee waiver. Find more at modyuniversity.ac.in/pdf/scholarship.pdf

Campus Life

5

Every year, technical fests and cultural fests are held. Among them, the cultural fest is awaited by most. The campus has ample facilities to pursue many sports, such as badminton, football, basketball and even horse riding. Activities like seminars, workshops, industry interactions, guest lectures by distinguished personalities, electronic modelling, art and craft, software development, dramatics, debate, blood donation camps, tree plantation and NCC training are regularly carried out on the campus. Besides, there are eight societies/clubs run by talented students of the college, such as cultural society, dance society, mathematical society, sports and athletic society, social service groups etc. To help develop a peaceful mental state, there are a meditation hall, yagnashala and temple on the campus itself.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are single, double and triple seater AC and non-AC rooms in the hostels. Each room has sufficient storage space and proper ventilation. Each room is furnished with a bed, a study table, a chair, an almirah and a side table. There are common bathrooms in the hostels, each equipped with cold and hot water facilities. On each floor, water cooler machines equipped with the latest RO technology are available. All the hostels have 24x7 wifi connectivity and the college has its own powerhouse, and thus, the power supply is uninterrupted. Buses ferry the students from their hostels to their respective college buildings. A team of well-qualified residential doctors is available in the college. The food provided in the dining room is vegetarian. Besides, many off-campus hostel rooms at highly varying rates, which are as low as INR 40000/yr for a triple-seater room to as moderate as INR 80000/yr for a single-seater room, are available just outside the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is vast and allows a student to explore all the possible options to take before deciding on one . The field of elctronics and communication engineering allows one to deal with electronics and learn all the possible tinkering with them which is a very fascinating part as all the gadgets possible today were made of them. The curriculum does satisfy this thirst by teaching about them in the class of electronics and electricals and then experimenting in the lab with them . The areas for improvement could be that if a student is interested in a specific field then should be allowed to venture that field throughly instead of sitting in every class , but that is an imrovement for the indian education system as as whole . The classes of every subject does occur frequently and and exams take place every month in a form of quiz or proper pen based exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I like computer science and I can see my future in this course. The current ratio in computer science courses is around 1:5. And we don't have technical communication teaching at present and the college is saying that they will recruit teachers as soon as possible. The student-teacher ratio in all the branches is around 1:3. All facilities are well qualified and teach well but they are not permanent and hence they may or may not be changed next year. There are two semesters in each year and an examination is conducted after each semester. The difficulty level of these exams ranges from moderate to difficult.
