I chose B.com which is a commerce course, the eligibility for this course was 12th pass. Mount Carmel College has its own website, you can visit the site and all information about your desired course and apply online. The whole application process is online and if selected you have to visit the college to submit documents and confirm your admission. Application forms for degrees usually open in the month of February or March and the Selected student's list is announced after the Karnataka PUC board announces the 12th results. The admission process is very simple and user-friendly.
Course Curriculum Overview
I decided to choose B.com because I come from a commerce background. My stream in 12th was also commerce and this is where my interest lies. The teachers in Mount Carmel are really helpful all of them are very qualified. The teaching method makes it easier to understand. As this is an autonomous college term exams are conducted during December and April.
Internships Opportunities
As mentioned, students from all courses are eligible for internships from their 2nd year and the placement cell is dedicated to provide with various internships including big companies and startups, Most of these internships also include a stipend.
Placement Experience
Students can start doing internships from their 2nd year and as of placements, they take place in the final year. There are various companies from across India that visit Mount Carmel to recruit students few of them include Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, TCS, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are quite a few scholarships offered every few months. There's a whole association that deals with placements and internships, big companies like Deloitte, JP Morgan, De shaw also come here to hire students for both internships and a full-time job.
Campus Life
Mount Carmel is known for its cultural form and fests. One of India's biggest fest Cul-Ah takes place here and the opportunities are unlimited. Every student who walks in has a chance to join clubs and associations and there are over 60 associations and a sports forum with games like football, tennis, badminton, etc.
