Internship program

Admission to all the PG programmes is done through online admission portal of university of Kerala. There is no entrance exam for admission process. Admissions will be strictly on merit basis. Seats will be allotted on the merit and as per the direction of the Government. The merit list is prepared on the basis of degree score. Candidate having NCC or NSS certificate will get bonus marks. An additional bonus marks will be provided to those holding the 'B' certificate and 'C' certificate in the NCC.

Chemistry is my favorite subject. Msc. Chemistry is a post graduate degree. The minimum time period to complete the course is 2 years.There are numerous higher study options and numerous job opportunities after completing this course. There are 9 permanent faculties in the chemistry department of St. Stephens college, Pathanapuram. Total 13 seats in MSc. Chemistry course. Number of seats may increase in the coming acedamic years. The minimum qualification of all faculties is PhD degree. The department provides friendly environment for studentsstudents and quite supportive. We have a semester system. There shall be Four Semesters in thecourse. The duration of an Academic year consists of two semesters. The student shall compulsorily deliver three seminar lecture in each of the Semesters. As a part of the course cirriculum, we have to do a project in the final semester. MSc. Chemistry is not hard to study. You can work hard for your passion for the subject.

There are many internship opportunities for MSc Chemistry students. You can apply for IAS fellowship, they will give you stipend as well.I have got selection in Indian Academy of science(IAS) summer research fellowship programme during my BSc program. I have done my PG internship at Kariavottom campus, University of Kerala. Apart from all internship programme, you can direct write a mail to any IIT/University professors including your cv and writeup. If they have vacancy in their lab, then will definitely call for the internships. Internship are ab excellent course of gaining hands on experience and knowledge about recent technology. Mine was a wonderful experience. Also as a part of our course cirriculum, we have to do a project in the final semester.

The Institution provide placement at the end of the acedamic year. But the percentage of students getting placement is very low. Personally, I'm not interested in placement. There are numerous higher studies options after completing this course. Candidates can also find numerous jobs both in public and private sector organizations, even in many abroad organizations. If you are interested in research, then give GATE chemistry or CSIR NET exams. Msc Chemistry students can also prepare for UPSC CGC. NFL, RFCL, AMD, ISRO, BARC etc. provides many glamorous job opportunities for chemistry students.

The course fees for the M.Sc. program is nearly INR 3000 for one acedemic year. There are a huge range of scholarship opportunities available for the deserving students. The Institution provide placement opportunities for the students ath the end of acedamic year.

Due to covid-19 pandemic we rarely had fest. The college has an excellent library facility. Library head and other library staffs are all very friendly and supportive. The overall campus life at SSC is average, but the department and lab facilities are good.

The hostel rent is high compared to facility they provide. The hostel fees are always separate from the tuition fees. The hostel fees include the mess. Hostel contains mess hall, prayer room etc.. But there is no separate study room. Meal and menu are good. The registration process is easy. Overall hostel facility is average, but hostel life and celebrations are great.
