Remarks

The experience was quite good as being a student of Universal Group Of Institutions. The admission process was also smooth, and the management which looked for the admission was very much helpful and friendly. I choose this college because I had heard from my friends that the college is so good the management is good and overall the facility is quite good. I was accompanied by one of the staff of the college for the counselling and admission for my degree in Btech Electrical Engineering. During all the progress for admission, he was with me accompanying me. I feel so good and easy to get admission as one of their staff was with me during hole of the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose this course because from the beginning I was very fond of the electrical branch. I also have my diploma in Electrical branch so I choose to do degree from electrical also. As far as the faculty is concerned they are hardworking, have good knowledge, are student friendly, well qualified, and the way they teach that's extraordinary. Before final exams, we had to give 3 term exams and the exams were just for preparing us for the final exams. By giving the 3 term exams, they made us ready for the final exams. The exams were conducted 3 times in a semester.

Placement Experience

5

The students get eligible for the placement in their final year of the course. The companies which have visited campus are Godrej, Vodafone, Airtel, Bhel, Infowiz, thinknext etc. The average number of students who gets placed are 6 out of 10. The company gives a good package and offers very good profiles. My plan after getting the degree is just simple I will prepare for the Govt. Job.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as fee structure is concerned I think the fee structure is normal as compared to some other colleges and as per the facility available the fee structure is quite good. There is also scholarship available any one can opt for the scholarship. There is also one department which only looks for the scholarship. They guide us through the whole process of scholarship and if there is any who is having any concern or query regarding the scholarship process there is the scholarship department which looks for them. There is AICTE scholarship, there is MOMA scholarship and there is social welfare scholarship and there are many other also. There also comes good company for campus hiring. Which selects student before completing the degree. So one can get the job before completing the degree I mean in 7th sem of degree if the degree is of 3 years so one can get the job in the 5th sem. For this there is also a department namely training and placement dept. which looks for the placement for students

Campus Life

5

The campus life is very good. Social life is also good because the campus has an environment of that type. There is also the annual fest and tech fest which they organise every year. Tech fest is been organised in the month of Feb every year and the annual fest in the month of Sep or Oct. There is also a good playground. The college also organises sports activities. The hostel students play after their college time. The hostel students have also made the team of their college.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facility is good. The room is having a separate wardrobe for each student, a study table for each and one shelf for each for placing the books. The hygiene is very good. The meal provided by the hostel is also good as compared to others. The process for registration is quite simple if one has to avail the hostel he has just to write an application that I need to avail the hostel facility and then he has to give the application to the warden and after that, the warden will accompany him and will give her the room. I was also living in the hostel.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges - [CGC] Landran, Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
