Remarks

I applied in various colleges under the University of Kerala. I was waiting for a merit seat in those top colleges. I got merit seat in Emmanuel college in first allotment after that I was waiting for the next allotment to take place and finally after the second allotment I got a merit seat in Christ Nagar college Maranalloor for Bcom commerce with computer application. After some days we were asked to come to the college with our parents and confirm the seat. Along with the marksheet, migration certificate and University application form we went to the college. We met a few people and the head of the Commerce Department conducted a small interview where he asked some questions regarding accountancy and then my future plans. Finally we had to meet the principal and the manager. That's it I got admission in Christ Nagar college. Your percentage should be above 80 in 12th grade to avail merit seat here.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I wanted a degree as I would like to pursue CA after this. And also having a degree always comes in handy when you want to apply for different job roles. A class contains a maximum of 70 students or a minimum of 50 students. Since it was during the corona period classes started in online mode. Our batch attended online classes for at least a year. In between, we had offline classes for like 2 weeks where they conducted an internal examination for which the marks were never announced. And finally, when the covid situation came under control our first semester examinations were conducted even though we had completed the second semester portions as well. First semester exams were easy except for the Environmental studies paper where 21 out of 33 questions were out of the syllabus. However when the students complained the university promised to provide grace marks for the out of syllabus questions. All our teachers are friendly and we can contact them whenever necessary.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Our college conducts several webinars for which E-certificates are available for the students. These E-certificates provided by them are very useful for their future as they will make your resume more attractive. There are only a few internship opportunities over here out of which I was selected for one internship and earned money.

Placement Experience

3

Students will become eligible for placement only in the last semester. Not all the students will get jobs in campus placements only a few will be eligible in the eyes of the company. My plan after my degree is definitely to attend CA intermediate as it is my dream.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure in this college is pretty high where we had to pay 17000 for a year. Also the bus fee was very much unfair for which many students where on Strike. Service which they provide for this high amount of fee is very low and that is a big disappointment. There are some scholarship provided by the college under several schemes. Even though I didn't get any job on the campus I attended an internship and earned money which was introduced to us by our department.

Campus Life

2.5

Due to the deadly coronavirus, our campus life ended up being online which is the saddest part. Our college has a library where there are thousands of books available. There are also guides and previous year question papers which help us in exams. There are several sports events conducted in our college like cricket, basketball, shot put, long jump, tennis, kho kho, wushu and many more. There is an SFI party in our college which is run by the students which come into action while there is a problem for the students because of the strict rules. Apart from this, there is a nature club, entrepreneurial development club etc
